I've been using the e6520 for about a week now.

Overall I'm quite impressed by the speed and brightness of the screen (coming from a D830). Battery life (9cell) is ok.

I'm not very pleased with the build quality below the DVD-area. This is the place where I place my hand to handle the laptop and it seems to me it can't really handle the pressure. The bottom panel seems to bend inside the dvd-drive. Also closing the DVD-drive is not very smooth. You have to put in a lot of pressure and as mentioned before the power connector is not firmly attached.

I'm not too pleased with the new keyboard layout, but that's probably something to get used to. Typing is fine though!

Maybe this isn't the right place for the following question, but anyway: I have installed win7 business on this laptop and it constantly crashes upon 'sleep'. If you put the pc to sleep, the power button flickers slowly. But when you 'power on/wake up' the device the power indicator goes out, after a few seconds boots up windows and I constantly find myself in the SAFE BOOT window where it says: windows did not shut down properly. All windows updates etc have been installed.

Did you install the Dell.com device drivers, starting with the Intel chipset and Dell system software, etc?

Yes I did. Just tested hibernation and that works perfect.
Thought of a missing driver too, but checked again and all devices are installed and all the recommended drivers from Dell site are implemented.

Another thing concerning the keyboard: the 'escape' key doesn't press equally. It seems as though it's stuck in the top left corner.

Have you a link for the FULL 'Owner's Manual' ? (the PDF is usually about 2 to 3MB in size) All I have seen at Dell.com is a short Environmental pdf.

Also, can you tell us which, if any, of the 3 minicard slots is free, and what cards use the others ?

A full manual does not seem to be posted yet... just this little spec sheet.

No info here on the minicard slots... perhaps WAN, WLAN, and PAN (Bluetooth).

See this post for using powercfg to investigate sleep problems. I need to try this myself on a Dell 4400 desktop that refuses to stay in sleep.

Dell put the owners manual for the Alienware 11x before the laptop even released. Hopefully they will get round to it for Latitudes now they have been out a few weeks.

re. disposition of the minicard slots, probably the easiest way to determine that is to remove the back cover and inspect. The reviews say this E6x20 is easy to access for changing HDD, memory, minicards et.

Have any owners looked inside the back cover yet ?

I am interested in the E6520 but current specs dont make clear which of the '1 Full and 2 Half Mini Card Slots' are free, and which are used by WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G minicards.

Can anyone tell me which slots those items use ? A photo of the minicard slot area would be helpful.

Normally, the 'Owners Manual' illustrates where they go and how to change them, but as yet I have not see the E6520 Owners Manual online

Also, can any owners of E6520 with the 1600x900 lcdpanel, let me know which make of panel is fitted ? - easily found in Device Manager > Monitors > Hardware ID = " lcdpanel part no "

I don't have one. Have you seen this pic from page 1 of the E6420 Thread?
