There never was an AMD/ATI video option. Only Intel only or Intel+Nvidia. Don't get the video driver's from Dell's site. Get them from Nvidia's. Also if possible get betas over WHQL. WHQL just means Nvidia paid microsoft money for that particular driver to get a sticker.

+1 except the usage of beta drivers :) I always pick up the latest official release for the nvidia drivers and intel graphics.

    No AMD graphics are available

    Thanks.

I think 8560p or 8560w is better, for lager touchpad without trackpad, led light for keyboard (upper the screen) :D

A12 bios is not good, it take more heat, I can feel the diffrent directly as older version.
    Well. I'll upgrade to A13

And the touchpad is completely OK. If it would be bigger, it would make more troubles during typing.
And normally you can switch the trackpad off.
Uh, what? E6520 has a backlit keyboard, no need of some strange led on the screen.
Nope, i switched from A5, i think, to A12, no changes in temperature. Perhaps you changed something in the power scheme?

    Hi Guys
Sorry if this has been asked before but i have a very strange problem with E6520. When i connect my external USB hardrive (no matter what model, tried different ones) to my laptop directly i only get 20MBs read speed from the USB drive. If i connect it to the docking station i get 35-36MBs which is about right. I have latest A13 BIOS and running Win 7 X64 SP1 installed on SSD. I have tried copying files from external hdd on E6220 and E6420 and they dont have this issue, looks like this affects only 6520. We have lots of them at work and they all have this issue. Definatelly not a one faulty laptop.
It looks like all internal USB ports are capped at ~20MBs speed, which cannot be right.
    Any ideas ?

    Regards,
    Andrew

    Hi all,
Searched for "ultrasharp", "premium panel" - nada!
Is the Ultrasharp 1920x1080 LED-backlit panel anti-glare or shiny?
    Many thanks.

    It's matte, so anti-glare.

Also I'm going to try flashing Intel ME 8 onto my E6520 (it's a BIOS extension). It's a requirement for Ivy bridge support. I think it will work, but without the core BIOS modified, I don't know if it will be enough to get IVB running. If the flash works but no IVB support, I'm going to flash the flash descriptor to unlock read access of the BIOS section of the flash ROM so that I can edit the BIOS. I'm worried that flashing the descriptor may kill the laptop since I cannot get an image of it, but I can build a generic image with the most important properties set accordingly and hope it works. Supposedly the laptop should be recoverable even if the flash descriptor is bad. If my motherboard is bricked anyway, I found that you can buy E6530 motherboards for $325, and I am 95% sure that E6520s and E6530s share the same chassis, so I'll get IVB support that way along with native USB3. Unfortunately Dell has not yet released the service manual for the E6530, so I cannot 100% confirm that the 2 chassis's are interchangeable. I will post updates on how things go.

    They did:
    https://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/lateE6530/en/om/om_en.pdf

I think, MB seems to be different, since the ports layout is a little bit different. And the USB 3.0 require other connections, than USB 2.0. And the system could check, witch components are installed and refuse to work with older ones :(
