BTW, the A12 BIOS update is for the standard E6420 as well. It installed fine.

Still wondering about the "wobbling" effect and if anyone found a fix.

    Hi tomihawk,
If you are still following these forums ... did you replace your screen and LVDS cable? I want to know how your screen upgrade went?

Does the 1600x900 LCD panel show or display anything at all?

After 10 days of use, it appears the speakers are not working. Chatted with CS, they're sending someone on Wednesday.

That's a nice price for E6420 even if refurbished. Does it include taxes and warranty? Is it mail-in or next business day?

With Tax and Next Day Business Waranty it came to $939, still amazing considering it would have been $1500 if I built it with Warranty non-refurb

Don't think this was ever resolved. I have headsets plugged into it and it only ever seems to happen when audio stops for a while. Does not happen on speakers. Not sure if it happens when undocked.

Mine doesn't "wobble" except if it's on a dock. Dock wobble is inevitable. Desk wobble is probably your backplate bent out of shape.

Installed the new speakers, still no sound. Can hear the sound in BIOS running diagnostics. Re-installed Windows and drivers but no sounds. They want to send out another tech to replace the mobo. Amazing.

I'm referring to wobble on the desk. My back cover doesn't appear to be bent when I take it off and put it on the desk by itself. It was replaced already by dell and it didn't solve it, and I read somewhere in here that there may be a manufacturing problem? It only wobbles with the lid open I'm pretty sure. It doesn't appear that anything stands out when looking at it.

Hi, I installed BIOS A12 on my E6420 on 3/23/2012 and it's working, but now it isn't avaiable any more. Does anyone know why Dell removed it?
