This post is unfounded nonsense and conjecture.

It is the 6300 and it does have 3 wires. See this image :)

    1. See Bokeh's post for details on power brick. I dont particular like the design either.

    2. The packaging is actually Bamboo, its sustainable and strong, hard to argue that.

    3. The latch is annoying hopefully its a one off problem.

    4. Speaker output is very similar after testing, but quality of sound is more subjective. I prefer the E6410.

    5. I will thermal test it this weekend.

    Thanks for the PSU images.

Could one of the new E6420 owners comment on the procedure for accessing the primary hard drive and memory? I'm going to be popping in 8 GB of DDR3 and a SSD when mine arrives and I just want to make sure I am well equipped for it. Is it as easy as unscrewing the bottom panel?

    Thanks.

Can you provide a CPU-Z screenshot at idle?
    Example:
It seams as if Intel has lowered the minimal core VID (voltage). I think that is lowering the electrical consumption of the CPU by a power of 2 and improves battery life.

Alright, I see now, the third is black that's why I missed it . It's nice to see the WWAN antenna cables despite not having a WWAN card. Is the SIM slot installed too?

We are grateful for the thermal testing... but... may I be so audacious to repeat the request for weight :) ?

I too have ordered the e6420 with 4gb ram and quadcore.

It comes in a few weeks and cannot wait!

It will replace my m2300 which is now three years old and gets too hot caused by the faulty gpu.

Not impressed by the psu though and may just have to order a slim off eBay.

Does anyone know if you are able to wrap all wires around the new style psu?

    Thanks

    P.

Just to let everyone know, don't try converting to UEFI you will not be able to activate the sound, using A01 BIOS.

To remove the bottom panel you are required to undo 6 screws, and extra 2 for the HDD.

There is a SIM-card slot built-in on the motherboard, and a WWAN slot for people who wants to add their own communication device. There is also a mini MYLAR which I don't know what's it for....

With the module bay out there is only a SATA port and a battery port connector, which would mean the NEC USB3.0 would be a SATA conversion.

Do anyone have the bottom panel front corners popping out?
