Yes it does. I installed GEIL 2x 8GB modules in E6420 and it recognized immediately. Windows didn't have any problem booting. It has been working stably since a few weeks.

However, E6410 is another interesting story. The modules are recognized by the Laptop -- show up in BIOS. But Windows 7 x64 had problem booting up with just 1x 8GB or 2x 8GB. I don't know if it would have worked if it was a fresh install. May be someone can try different brand 8GB modules in E6410 and see if it takes.

Let me know how it goes, I've heard people having issues on other laptops with 16gb.

I've been tempted to try as well but don't want to waste the money if it doesn't work.

    Hello Guys

Thank you so much for your support.

I bought a 8GB / 1333MHz / 204 pin memory module made by Markvision and have it installed and working fine on my E6420 with Core i5 2520M togheter with other one memory module of 2GB which came with notebook. So now I'm happy running with 10GB RAM.

Will buy another 8GB module and install soon and keep you aware.

    Best regards

    Hello Guys

Bought another 8GB module, same type (Markvision BMD38192M1333C9-1220) and happy running my E6420 with 16GB RAM without any issue.

    Thanks and regards

Just to confirm another combo that works:

    Dell BIOS A17
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz
    16342 MBytes
    PC3-12800J (800 MHz)
    Corsair CMSX8GX3M1A1600C10

BIOS sees them running at 1600Mhz, which was a surprise. memtest ran successfully, and so far it's working very well.

Given that Sandy Bridge i7s natively support 1600 MHz RAM, it's not that surprising. ;)

True... But Dell BIOS doesn't always exactly stick to Intel's full capabilities. Anyway, it was nice to see, and is working nicely! :)
