Monitors are monitors, drivers don't do anything.
Drivers mater for are for true 8-bit displays, usually using PVA or ISP panel technology, where your screen is color calibrated for Adobe RGB or sRGB, and you want to load a color profile to get the best colors when editing pictures.

Drivers won't increase view angle limitation and colors within Windows as itself.

Actually, widescreen 16:10 is the preferred choice, as you can better multitask, and it allows programs to have side columns panels/menu.
For instance, look at Aero Snap. Moreover, Microsoft uses the extra space for gadgets for instance. And last but not least, allows programs to have complete large left or right side tool panels instead, which provide you more work real-estate for feature complete software, or side columns bar.. For instance bookmarks/favorites left side bar.

OK, so I'm going to build my i7 WXGA+ configuration again, and apply the 28% coupon. Hopefully, I can then call Dell and talk the price further. If I can get away with paying ~$1100 for this machine, that would be great. I'm also thinking about configuring it with the lowest HD option, and replacing it myself with a scorpio black 320 or 500GB, or even an SSD.

How so? You might want to explain a bit further? What precisely is the the issue?

There is such a thing as a "SEC5441" display, but the number seems to be for the XPS M1330?

I'm only aware of a single 14" notebook computer on the market with the old 4:3 aspect ratio display - and it's a very old model from a little know manufacturer.

Can someone confirm the weight of the E6410 with a 6 cell battery, a 128Gb SSD drive?

Has anyone tried physically removing their NVIDIA 3100m card and just running the computer with integrated graphics to improve battery life/heat? If so, what improvement did you notice in heat and battery life? Is it simple/possible to just take the video card out and pop it in if you plan to play games or use more 3d in the future?

From somewhere near the start of this thread I recall about 2.3kg which is just over 5lbs.

Both the E64x0 and the E65x0 are the same system, just that one is bigger than the other.
The 15inch model will be a bit cooler due to it's larger size (the laptop uses the metal bass as another heatsink).
