I guess you got lucky on that one if you had a 15% coupon that could be a slickdeal alright .. but even at that price I would of brought right away... :)

I think how it works is that you get a discount off whatever deal the original purchaser got. So if they got a good deal, you get an even better deal. If they bought without any discount, you also don't get a discount other than the outlet discount. You got a spectacular deal. Must have been a return of an employee purchase. No sense waiting for a coupon. If you hadn't snatched it up, it would have been gone in no time. Systems with the same specs usually are at least $300 more on the outlet. The e6410 hasn't been out long enough for this to be a hair in the keyboard refurb. Just meant it left and came back. Otherwise it would have been marked previously ordered new.

Anyone have a backlit keyboard on their e6410?

I just got one on ebay and I noticed that the Fn markings are white instead of blue. Is this the case with all backlits, or did I get a cheap knockoff? Seems to work fine. Just a few minutes ago, a cloud came by and the keyboard lit up. Guess the ambient light sensor works too.

All the markings are white on my E6400's keyboard (which I believe is the same). I think this is because the backlighting has to shine up through the markings. Blue translucent plastic would block more light so the markings would be dimmer.

Anybody else notice how bad the ControlPoint Security software slows down the computer? I formatted the hard drive, installed Win 7 Ult x64, and setup the fingerprint reader and it just got doggy after that. I formatted again and left the Security stuff off and it seems much more responsive, especially right after booting.

Wow that's a great deal, congrats! Did you pay $619 before or after taxes?

It's technically an e6400 keyboard. Guess Dell changed them for the e6410. For $17.50, it works fine.

Pretty happy? You should be elated. Best deal I've seen ever. I paid about the same for the i5-2530 and no bluetooth or back-lit kb, and a smaller drive and I thought mine was a great deal.

You may want to consider having them add accidental damage coverage. It's about $100 now, but much more later. You may need to upgrade to on-site repair, but I don't think so.

I you decide you don't want the LT, I'll take it off your hands for you.
