OEM SSDs for the E6410 are PM800 and PM810, and I've used a PM830, so there's a good chance that the PM840 will work fine. However, the 840 EVO seems to have a new TurboWrite feature, so it might be hard to say...

You won't get any advantage from the faster drive because the E6410 has a SATA 3.0Gbps controller, so I would recommend a PM830 or PM840 that should be cheaper.

Thanks for the info. I did check into that before, but I didn't find any cheap SATAII SSDs. The EVO seemed the same price (if not cheaper) than the other SATAII drives, although I did not specifically search for PM810/830.

About the turbowrite feature, I presume the SATAII should not be directly affected (in fact the feature might boost speeds over the SATAII bottleneck it would seem) but how the firmware will play is a total crapshoot.

Let me see if I can change my order. If anyone has attempted to install this drive in the 6410 please feel free to chime in.

Looks like there is an option for the PM810, although it's almost painful paying the same price as a current gen SSD.

I guess I might cancel the order for the Evo then.

Unless the price is really good, the PM810 is not worth it. I would recommend the PM840 Pro over the 840 EVO, and you can get a better price on eBay with potentially no sales tax.

I just paid $165 for the 840 Evo 250GB. That sounds like a reasonably good price to me. I know there's a Toshiba Q 256GB on sale on amazon right now for $150 right now ( link) but I don't trust Toshiba drives.

I am searching around, but does anyone here know of someone who may have replaced the E6410 screen with a 1920x1200 panel?

    Thanks.

The E6410 uses an eDP internal connection (not LVDS), and no such panel exists, so I can confidently say that there's no such person. ;)

    Thanks. :)

From some hunting around, I did indeed not come across anything or anyone. :D

A Monoprice display it shall be. I hope the 3100M can drive a 2560x1440 display.

Even though the docking station has DVI, it is single-link, so you need to use DisplayPort.

Oh yes, I meant the graphics card pushing 2560x1440 resolution for large movies, multiple activities like Lightroom + 1080p playback etc.

Thanks. I might pick up a Dell Ultrasharp from the outlet. Should make for a better bang for buck than anything else.

I don't know how smooth it will be, but I normally use mine with a 2209WA (1680x1050) or U2412M (1900x1200). The U2413 should be really nice if you need accurate colors.
