    Thanks for that info.

I'm almost all set to get the E6400.

The D series from what I've seen have had absolutely excellent keyboards. Let's hope the E continues that

The CNET Review says the E6400 is 5.7 lbs?? Is that right? The specs say it's a pound lighter.

My calculations about the E6400 weight are here. I have assumed that some of Dells weights are correct.

5.7lbs is seriously heavy - heavier than some 15.4" notebooks. My E6400 will be going straight back if it is that heavy.

Maybe they made mistakes such as the one here which assumes the 1.95kg is with no battery whereas the data sheet clearly states that weight includes a 4 cell battery.

Well I was originally planning on getting something like the M4400 but I finally realized that the E6400 or T400 would both probably be more practical for me as a new college student... I think I'm between these two now. Any reviews of them other than that CNet one of the E6400?

I suppose it's going back, because that's the third review putting it at 5.6+ pounds.

We did some analysis of the weights in this thread, trying to work out how there could be so much difference between the headline weight and actual weights.

At the moment I am assuming that my configuration (HDD, backlit keyboard, LED backlit display, 6 cell battery) will be no more than 2.3kg (5.1lbs).

The optional 65W slim PSU also looks very neat and will reduce the travel weight while the new 90W PSU is also relatively slim and light.

are they weighing them with the powerbrick? I really don't care if the power brick weighs a pound, but if the notebook weighs 5.6, that's a heavy one in a small package, I can't see it with those dimensions weighing that much, it is thin and small????????
