E6400 Keyboard Swap

i contacted a seller on e-bay and he just posted 4 new backlit keyboards for 47 bucks w/free shipping. i just picked one up. the starting bid is 36 but ends in 6 days, since the buy it now is not much more expensive i figured i would just go ahead and get it. here is a link to one of the keyboards, if you want to see his other postings just click on his username and check listings and search e6400.

can anyone link me to the service manual or where i can find out how to remove the e6400 keyboard as I just bought the back lit keyboard and would like to swap it out.

Anyone know why my backlit keyboard doesn't work? I just bought it off ebay and it arrived. Switched it out and keyboard works fine but the backlit doesn't work. I pushed fn and the right arrow key and it shows up on my display as backlit on but i don't see it on the keyboard. Is there something else I need to do?

 

Check the BIOS, perhaps there is a disable/enable option?

 

I have it enabled in dell controlpoint but still no backlit keyboard on

 

Ever get that ebay backlit keyboard to work?
