Make sure you have the Intel Matrix Storage Manager installed.

Has anyone had a problem with bluetooth pairing a nokia with their E6500?

I am struggling. I get the phone paired with the laptop but pc suite complains that the phone is not authenticated.

I have googled for hours looking for a solution.

    Any ideas?

By the way a point of interest. Dell has a new IDT 92HDxxx HD Audio driver available for Vista 32 bit and 64 bit. Release date 2008/11/14.

    Here is the link..... ftp.us.dell.com/audio/IDT_92HDXXX-HD-AUDIO_A04_R201103.EXE

I have paired my phone successfully via bluetooth on E6400 (although my phone is a Sony Ericsson)

I assume you have entered the same PIN on both the PC and the phone to pair them? There are some suggestions I have found following, and a few of them suggest that you uninstall the bluetooth on PC and install the standard Microsoft bluetooth stack. Have a look:

    Good luck :)

    Thanks for that info.

This is how I got my Nokia to sync with PC suite on my previous laptop, a Dell D820.

I must admit I have not tried it on the E6500 as I came across a forum where several people say they tried it and after uninstalling the bluetooth driver (Widcomm) and attempting to usine the Microsoft driver the bluetooth device is not detectable anymore.

But it must be noted that I can pair my phone with the Laptop and dial up to the Net. No Problem there. It seems just to be Nokia PC Suite not being able to authenticate the phone. I upgraded to the ltest version of PC Suite, upgraded my phone firmware and installed the latest Bluetooth device driver from Dell. At this point no difference.

But I will try over the weekend and see for myself. I will give you feedback.

A few other points of interest. I have a wireless DSL router at home. I use the wireless capability all the time as I do plenty work from home and I can more freely around the house. For the first few days after getting the laptop I could not get through onto the Net. I could create a wireless connection to the router but despite that could not access the Net. However if I created a DSL "dial up" I could get on. It turned out to be the Dell Control Point Security Manager. To sort it out I went via the windows menus like so
Start >> All Programs >> Dell ControlPoint >> Security Manager >> Advanced >> Advanced Security Wizards >> 802.1x Authentication Setup Wizard.

Secondly we use Checkpoint VPN Securemote. This would start when the laptop was first started but would hang. I could see that the services would start and the stop. Not too much info in the event log except that the service was told to stop. It turned out to be the Dell Control Point Connection Manager. Once I uninstalled the connection manager it worked without any issues.

More info to come I am sure.......
