Try what MDR8850 says. And did you look in you control panel? After installing the software there should be a BT logo there where you could switch it on too.

I reinstalled the OS that was shipped with my computer but no success.
Now I'm using Win7 and it seems that the BT connection is gone.

my last hope is to contact Dell and use my warranty.
In the meanwhile any help will be helpful..

I've searched all over the net for a working solutions but still no luck.

    thanks

What you should of done is to turn on the bluetooth/wifi switch and run Win7 install that would of been the best way to make sure things got detected.
Try this uninstall and delete drivers for BT from device manager. Nomake sure your online and now scan for hardware change and let Windows find drivers online. Then if all goes well you can opt to update drivers with the ones your currently trying to install.

And if you have more than 1 OS installed on your computer, You should first enable it in the OS (like xp) that was on the computer before. My bluetooth didn't work either on ubuntu before I enabled it in XP. Same goes for Win 7.

My BT device under device manager listed as unknown device.
Win7 did not find any proper drivers for it.

My main concern is that the BT blue light indicator is off.
and all of my efforts to make it on again ended as total failure.

In the Bios the BT set to enable.
what else should I do in order to make the BT light go on again?

Sorry, i am out of ideas really. Did you try physically removing the bluetooth card and remove ALL the drivers etc. that have to do with BT and then reinstall the card and the software. You have to install drivers and software manually, Win7 won't automatically find it but it shouldn't be listed as unknown either. Are you sure that't not a fingerprintreader or something? When i installed Win7 BT worked straight away but it wasn't fully functional. Only after installing the Dell software manually.

How do I physically remove the BT card?
I mean Is there a manual at Dell site?

I think that's my best option.
I can not install Dell software because in the middle of the installation
I'm getting a message saying that I need to power on my BT device.

All I need is to have the BT blue light indicator working again.
    How do I achieve it?

    Thanks

Sorry bud....like i said, i'm really out of ideas. The only issue i had with mine was solved by manually installing the drivers. You did get the "new" Win7 drivers for the card, right?
