There are 6 total USB ports on both the E-Port and the E-Port Plus (one of which is a combo USB/eSATA port). Two USB ports on back plus the combo port and 3 USB ports on the side. I have an E-Port so I can confirm that.

The specs are wrong for some reason but in the pre-release press announcements they had the 6xUSB mentioned.

The E-Port Plus just adds legacy ports and has 2xDVI and 2xDisplayport. The regular E-Port has a 1xDVI and 1xDisplayport so you can still run dual digital displays as long as one of your monitors accepts Displayport.

Thanks ver much for the quick reply. I'm glad that there are in fact, ample USB ports!

For the video port, I recently bought a Dell SP2309 in anticipation of getting E-series Latitude. The monitor came with all sorts of cable, including (I believe) a VGA, a DVI and an HDMI. I only have one monitor so not concerned about dual display ports. However, does the E-port (either the basic or the plus) support HDMI? If not, what am I losing if I only use the available DVI cable to connect?

I bought an E-Port Plus from eBay but it doesn't seem to work. Only power button appears to be working; I can turn on & off the laptop (E5500) using the E-Port power button but the blue LED backlight doesn't light up.

VGA port, USB connectors to mouse & key board don't work.

It doesn't come with the power adapter, I tried to use the 90W that comes with the laptop. According to the User's Manual "The E-Port Plus can run on its AC power adapter, the laptop’s AC power or the laptop’s battery."

I guess it's pretty much dead. Any thought and suggestion are greatly appreciated!

    Hi all,

If I wish to run Windows 2000 on Dell Latitude E4300 + E-Port Plus Replicator , will there be issues? Do I just install Windows 2000 with the laptop inserted in the replicator and it should work fine?

    Thanks a lot!
