I was sold a precision m4700 over the phone after returning an XPS15 due to the wireless issue.
I naturally assumed it came with bluetooth as standard...I was wrong.
As its a mobile workstation its easy enough to put one in the only problem is they dont like to sell them to you (I've tried).

Has anyone managed to get hold of one and if so how??? I've seen on other threads that people in the US have been able to order them but no one is prepared to supply me with one here in the UK after numerous calls to Dell Bangalore (grrrrrr!!!), as well as Dell inthe US and UK.

Edit*- Opps sorry this should be in more general thread

I got an alternative though, you could install an Intel 6230 in it, it has both WLAN and bluetooth integrated, most consumer notebooks now come with a combo card instead of a separate WLAN and bluetooth adapters.

I noticed you had two threads on the subject, i deleted the one in general since this one had more replies. I can move this thread to the main Dell forum if you prefer. Just let me know, either in this thread or via pm.

If you want a thread moved in the future, you can report your own post and ask us to move it, a mod will take care of it for you. ;)

I have a similar problem. I was told by the rep that It comes with bluetooth, but it did not when I received mine. Customer service told me to call the sales rep and ask them to send me the part and they will refund me the cost of it. Long story short i was transferred to the spares part department which they told me that they don't have it in stock and will get back to me when they do and hopefully send it to me.
The two parts you need for the M6700 are:
    430-4642 Dell Wireless 380 Bluetooth 4.0 Module
331-8106 Bluetooth Cable, Dell Precision M6700

Thanks for that advise, Ive spoken to the parts department (6th call to Dell), they hadnt heard of the part number or the part said he'd speak to the manager or whatever and call me back in 5 minutes....that was 3 hours ago. Usually quality service from Dell India...not!
Bizarre thing is I can always just send it back when it arrives and re-order with correct spec with no cost to myself.

    Hi tonyparker2000,

I am sorry to hear that you have not received the call as promised to you. I have added you to my friends list so that you can send Private Messages to me with the details about your system (Service tag or Order number, and the Dell Support region that you belong to). I will check the details and get back to you.

Please do write back in case you need any further assistance.

    Thanks & Regards
    Swapnajan MC

    Hello,

Has anyone been able to order the two bluetooth part numbers? I am in the same situation. I would like to order the parts from Dell or another supplier.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

I talked to tech support and they dispatched the part for me today, along with instructions of how to install it. You basically remove the keyboard cover and the right side there is a port which the module is plugged in to the mother board and the card screwed on top adjacent to the port.

The full teardown guide is available on the Dell support site too if anyone needs it. Glad to see someone managed to get the parts.
