when I got my E6400 from DELL outlet, it does not come with Windows Discs, so I did a request on line for the product. However, I notice I have to pay for the disc..
For ppl who request the wintow vista from DELL, does anyone pay for it?

I don't think it is that odd, you are purchasing back-up discs. You can alwasys burna copy of the backup partition that comes with your computer if you want to save the money. Either way though, you won't get a clean copy of Windows Vista, but one that includes all the bloatware the computer originally came with.

Er, the E6400 doesn't come with a Recovery Partition as far as I now...in addition the OEM Vista CD does not have any bloatware on it, it doesn't even contain the default Dell Drivers. They include a separate CD you need to use to install them.

My E6500 came with 5 DVDs, one of which was a genuine Vista disc without any bloatware. Dell included separate disks with the drivers and applications/bloat.

Maybe if you complain a bit and say that other people have gotten the discs with their machines and that yours is defective and missing those discs, they might send it for free?

I chatted with DELL tech rep, and they told me I should get free for the disc. but Billing department charged my on my account. So I need to contact billing department.
So for ppl who requested the vista 32 or 64bit dvds, go through your account balance to see if you have a balance there.
