About 99% of the times, that I try to recover my Dell Vostro 1510 from suspend it doesnt work. I hit the power button to resume and the power light and WiFi light stays lit but the screen doesnt turn on and it stays like this. I have to hold down the power button to turn it off and turn it back on. How can I resolve this?

    Windows Vista SP1

I have the latest BIOS from Dell.

Have you tried reinstalling your video driver and/or updating/rolling back said driver(s)?

... and the stock Dell drivers? Older versions of the ForceWare drivers? Do those not work too?

Does it on Dell's stock and Dell's updated nVidia drivers.

Ignore this (apologies if any offence taken)

I had the same thing happen to me

make sure you delete any and ALL NVIDIA/Display related drivers you have on your computer, use a driver cleaner utility if need be

    http://www.download3k.com/System-Utilities/Other-Utilities/Download-Driver-Cleaner-Professional.html

    try that one

then, head on over to the nvidia website, and search for the drivers on there

www.nvidia.com -> Download Drivers -> Download Drivers -> Product Type: Geforce, Product Series: Geforce 8M Series (Notebooks), Operating System: [select whatever your using], Language: English (US), Click Search -> Agree to the terms and download

    install those

make sure you restart during any installation/uninstallation of drivers no matter how irritating it may become!

    this should fix the issue

    good luck
