I bought one screen from ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/notebookbitz?_trksid=p2047675.l2559), they shipped me a AUO (AU Optronics) screen which was total rubbish... you can see below some tests made using http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/. The results are wit the default settings. I was able to fix the blacks a bit and the whites, at the expense of brightness, but some colors (like saturated greens) look too saturated, like burning my retina. And of course, the biggest issue is the viewing angle... is so abrupt that any small change of angle has visible effects.
Of course, the seller tried to blame it on "higher resolution" - that must be the cause of the rubbish quality of the image (really?!?). Now I'm trying to sort it out with the seller, which was really stubborn in accepting they are selling reject.

In the meantime, if you guys know where I can buy from a decent screen, would be much appreciated.

I found this website with a comprehensive database of LCD screens, but I may need some help in finding fully-compatible screens. I was able to filter-out most of them, but still ,there are some filters that i don't understand, so I couldn't know the correct choice.
I could use some help in selecting the models that are fully compatible with Dell Precision M6800, LVDS. Link below.

    Many thanks.

    Okay, is done!
Full HD (1920x1080) and pretty decent quality. I used Innolux N173HGE-L11 (careful: there is -E11 too, but that one is less good!). It costed me almost double (£98) and it has a slight greenish tint, but which can be fixed with a bit of patience, using the tools integrated in the OS or video card software.
The AUO seems crap, I wouldn't advise to waste your time with it.

    Hi guys,
My M6800 motherboard kicked the bucket and I got a replacement from the fleabay without paid too much attention to screen connection. Turn out the new motherboard model is 098VVR and therefore, requires EDP LCD display while the old screen is of the LVDS type. Since I wanted to upgrade from HD+ (original lcd) to FullHD anyway, I bought an EDP display cable with model 08XC05.
The last part is the panel itself and I have absolutely no clue which one should I order. My only requirement is Full HD, I can live with either matte and glossy LCD, no brand loyalty means AUO, LG or Chimei both are acceptable.
    Thanks and cheers.
