Hmmmm.... I have all of those on my M6700 (at least I hope so)...

How can the Windows 7 LABEL be back-ordered (and would it really hold up a system)?!?!

Do you have the Dell 380 Bluetooth 4.0 card in your configuration?

I gave my rep a lot of grief for that one. I told him I'd live if they sent me one without the labels.

Exactly. Except they won't ship a fully-loaded M6700 with Windows 8 at the moment.

I do as well. I asked and this part is not backordered on my unit but take that with a grain of salt.

I have all the above. I ordered one on Oct 12th, another Oct 13th.

It estimated delivery for Oct 29th and Oct 30th.

But, I got the delivery on Oct 24th and 25th.

    Guess, I am lucky. :)

Finally managed to put my order in for my M6700 after a few weeks of negotiations with Dell Australia. :)
The rep finally referred the matter to her big boss to approve the 25% discount and she managed to get the approval from their finance department and did the order herself at the end of her working day on Friday. Although have not heard many good stuff about Dell Australia services I was impressed with her cooperation. Hopefully this will extend to their after sale services and support as well.
The ETA for delivery is 13 Nov and I have started ordering my required memory from Kingston.
Unfortunately all my efforts to get Samsung Series 850 SSDs have failed in Australia (those of you living in the US are lucky in regards to this) so I guess I will have to wait for a few months and then develop a Raid 5 system with 3 SSDs after the new Samsung comes in the Australian market.
After all thoughts about Win 8 I finally had to stick to Win 7 as a result of a funny fact that Quadro K4000M was not available to add to the cart after selecting Win 8 which sound ridiculous. On the other side I seriously wanted a fingerprint reader and this was not available either.
Might have to consider upgrading a bit later. Anyone happy about their upgrades to Win 8 or any possible issues? Please let me know.

Remember that you will qualify for a $15 upgrade to Windows 8 (or whatever it costs in Australia) so be sure to register for it when you receive your system.

Fingerprint reader doesn't work in Windows 8 yet (maybe that's why they won't let you order it that way) but everything else is good on the M6700. I've been pleased with Dell's promptness on getting most of the new drivers available, especially the new BIOS which adds a bunch of UEFI features to support all of the UEFI stuff that Windows 8 supports.

As for Windows 8 itself, that's a discussion beyond the scope of this thread, I think. I'm personaly happy with it but it took some time for it to grow on me (I've been running it since the TechNet release in August). Plenty of opinions out there. :p

"...Unfortunately all my efforts to get Samsung Series 850 SSDs have failed in Australia ..."

In the U.S., the Samsung 840 series SSD (which replaces the 830 line that Samsung has stopped producing and distributing) is now scheduled for availability on 11/06/12 - from their main retailers such as Amazon and NewEgg. Although this is now the the third delayed/updated availability date (previous dates were 10/16/12 and 10/23/12), Samsung tells me the 11/06/12 availability date might well finally be for real. The Samsung 840 Pro SSDs are really worth the extra money beyond the 840 series in my opinion, though even now the Samsung 830 series is a very close SSD second choice (in my opinion) after the 840 series.
