I'm not seeing the connection here?
I simply have the same setup as you with no 320.00 issues whatsoever.

Very simple. As others have reported, installing the new nVidia 320 drivers onto a system with the IPS screen leads to a black/blank screen during the installation and following any reboot. The screen still works, as it displays stuff during boot, but once the drivers are loaded within Windows 8 the display blanks once more and it's game over. I had to reboot into system recovery and roll back to a previous system restore point in order to make the system usable. I'm simply adding weight to the remarks by others that the 320 drivers do not work on systems with the IPS screen. As for mentioning the K3000M, I just added that for clarity, as there has been a lot of K5000M talk recently, so I wanted to give the full picture.

If you are running 320 drivers without problem then that's great, but for some of us it seems to be a complete no go.

As I already wrote: 320.00 + my K5000M + my IPS display + my Win7 (64bit) = black notebook screen (but an external display connected via HDMI was fine, so the rollback was quite easy).
So it must be the internal IPS display in my case (but I can't speak for other systems).

    Ciao,
    Alex

I think IPS might be the issue. I have the regular screen and 320.00 works fine.

Yes, but do you have the RGB IPS screen or the regular one?

Understood. Its just if you're implying a pattern, I'm not seeing it.
    Dell Precision M6700 • Core i7 3940xm • 32GB DDR3-1866 • NVIDIA Quadro K5000M 4GB, WIN8 64, IPS = no issues.
    Conclusion?

Which driver variant did you install and which components did you install? I tried the ODE version, clean installed, but only selected a subset of available components as I don't want any of the 3D stuff and other bloat, just the basic drivers. I didn't bother with audio, nView or WMI.
