    Hello
I just received a new M6700 one week ago. Well working and great machine (IPS screen).
But since yesteday, the screen blink (flash) all the time when the computer is connected to the power supply. It is difficult to see anything on the LCD, but windows is working well. If i remove the power supply, everything is correct, the screen is great.
I tested with another power supply (same power 240W), it is the same problem !
Didn't yet tested with external screen.
Any idea before calling Dell pro Support ?
    Thanks...

Try adjusting the brightness level (Fn+Up/Down). On some displays, certain brightness levels cause flickering. Switching to battery power may change the brightness level.

(Still shouldn't be happening. You should call support to get it resolved.)

Hi I recently have installed a second HDD in my M6700. I am running no raid, and I don't want to enable raid - but how can I prevent the RAID Ctrl I screen coming up after the Dell post test graphic prior to Windows booting?

and of course this line item suddenly appears on the M6700 specs a few days after mine ships of course grrrr:

17.3" UltraSharp™ FHD (1920x1080) Wide View LED, 10 Finger Multi-Touch, Premium Panel Guarantee [add $350.20]

Go to the BIOS and find the option to disable legacy options ROMs, and that screen will not appear.

In the m6600, wasn't there a flickering issue if you had it at lowest brightness if you were using a lg panel? Had to switch it out for an auo panel to stop the flickering.

This is the first time I've heard of an IPS display flickering. The problem prior was limited to the LG (TN WLED) displays (IPS's are LG's only). It was thought a cracked resistor was the reason.
You have three possible options: If within 21 days of receiving (1, 2) - 1. Return the entire system for FULL refund then consider reordering, or 2. exchange the defective systems until you get one that functions correctly while retaining your right to #1. 3. accept a technician to replace the display of which will be a refurbished component.

Whatever you decide to do, I would add, make sure they know you are displeased. If you decide to replace the display then request the tech be provided with at least three displays to choose from to limit being inconvenienced from a reoccurrence.

Edit 1: Blinking display is a much harsher defect likely from an electrical short.

Edit 2: If you choose to have an LG (TN WLED) display replaced, specify that it be one with AUO as manufacturer: No substitutes.

Corrected from (FHD) to (TN), from Baiii's post below. (TN) is the proper name in order to differentiate these types. They're all called FHD and one HD at Dell now.

This driver made my screen go black during install, and it never came back - I waited 30 minutes. I downloaded it again from NVIDIA, same thing - I had to Safe Boot and reinstall 311.50. I have installed every NVIDIA driver that has come out for the 6700 (I have the K5000), beware - something must be wrong with it.

If it flickers then it is the LG TN that he is talking about.
