I updated from A03 to A06 on Windows 7, no issues, then updated to A08 with both Win 7 and Win 8 installed, again no issues what so ever. The BIOS stayed in legacy mode for the A06 and A08 update.

I know there are several posts of the following ram working in the M6700:

    Corsair Vengeance 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz (PC3 15000) Laptop Memory CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10

However, I am wondering how many people are actually running 32GB of this ram. I chatted with pro support and they said at 1866, the M6700 can only support 16GB. If 32GB is installed it will probably drop to 1600.

so if you are running 32GB of this 1866 ram, please post here or shoot me a pm.

    thanks,

    Mike

    TOUCH UP PAINT

I need to touch up a couple of light scratches on my M6700 (non covet). I have been told by Dell that the color is Antique Bronze.

Has anybody located a spray paint that matches the color well?

    Thanks,

    Antonio

Yes, it would be interesting to know, but I won't spend over 300$ in RAM just to test this. :p 4x8GB at 1600MHz works just fine tough.

Well isn't it interesting you found all this out and posted it two day after I already order and received my RAM. My machine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow; if it does, I will load the RAM first thing.

Now just to clarify, are you saying the 32GB of 1866 will be down graded to 1600 or that only 16GB out of 32GB of the 1866 will be seen?

All 32Gb will run at 1600 instead of 1866, according to how its stated in their post...

Eager to see what happens when you load yours in tomorrow and test it out!

I've been running 32GB of RAM at 1866Mhz in this laptop without any issues. I have gone through 3 other M6700s personally and all worked fine. I have several friends running the same configuration without any issue.

What the Dell tech told you is false based on my observations.

I think I was the first person in this thread to post an extensive review on this RAM when it first came out months ago. Nothing has happened since then that would cause me to alter my conclusions. Everything works fine.

Feel free to reread my review here.

Same here: 32GB @ 1866MHz without any problems (about 3 months).
Speed is confirmed by HWINFO64 and CPU-Z.

    Cheers,
    Alex

Thank you all for the responses. The pro support said that 32GB of 1866 would run at 32GB of 1600. However, looking at several posts, it appears he is incorrect. It would not be the first time where a tech stated something that was not correct.
