I gotta say, I find a backpack more "elegant" that a ginourmous briefcase... it doesn't distort your posture as much.

I am using Everki 18" bag, model EKP117NBKCT. Compartment for laptop is ok, but other compartment is not so friendly. Another model, EKP120 is bigger and better compartment but it is heavier in return; the zips also making noise like windbell and i don like it.

Just received Kingston HyperX 1866 4x4Gb RAM and working perfectly. Till now i still can't sell the Corsair Vengence 1866 zzz...

I used the big Targus bags for a couple of years and they did a great job. Lots of space. But they are not exactly elegant and lots of space usually means lots of wasted space.

Switched to the Dakine Network 31L after trying out 30 or so bags in several stores. Have used it for about a month now and I am very happy with it. The M6700 fits perfectly.

thanks guys for the bag suggestions.

    BTW I posted on
Dell Precision M4700 and Precision M6700 Launch - YouTube
whether there's a comparison between the hp and dell workstation and I got a longer answer from the dell rep that I thought I should share.

    1. Power:
a.Dell Precision mobile workstations are the world's most powerful mobile workstations with advanced options including Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition processors, 1866Mhz memory and a wide range of professional grade graphics solutions from Nvidia and AMD

    2. Battery life:
    a. Dell Precision M4700 & M6700: longer battery life than HP 15" and 17" mobile workstations, respectively, when equipped with optional 9-cell battery, optional slice battery and NVIDIA® Optimus™ enabled.*
    3. Lighter:
a.The Dell Precision M4700 mobile workstation: over half a pound lighter than the HP 8570w
b.The Dell Precision M6700: lighter than any other mainstream 17" mobile workstation
    4. Ports:
a.Dell Precision M4700: More video ports than the HP Elitebook 8570w
b.Dell Precision M6700: More video ports than the HP Elitebook 8770w
    5. Industry leading features:
a.Dell Precision M6700: the first mainstream 17" mobile workstation to support optional NVIDIA 3D Vision® Pro 3D solution

    9. All configurations are 100% BFR PVC free excluding the power adapter and power cord

*Based on testing using the Mobile Mark 2007 Productivity battery life benchmark test. For more information about this benchmark test, visit BAPCo. Test results should be used only to compare one product with another and are not a guarantee you will experience the same battery life. Battery life may be significantly less than the test results and varies depending on your product's configuration, software, usage, operating conditions, power management settings and other factors. Maximum battery life will decrease with time and use.

Personally I was more interested in the difference in performance and I felt the answers were pretty generic and not specific enough, ie. backed up with figures and computer specs.

Try send the same question to HP, would be nice to know their perspective. Performance is largely dependent on component instead of dell parts/build.
I see some of the point being true, while some are more vague, some are total make up...
Pretty sure 2,4 is true, while3,5,6,7 is questionable. 1 may be half true or all wrong (1866mhz RAM)

The red covet does look sexy, but in general, HP aesthetic is better than dell.

1 - The 1866mhz RAM is confirmed to work. Mano stated that Dell worked with Intel to make this happen.

    2 - True

3 - Would depend on the spec. Some M6700's will weigh more than others. Hopefully it is apples to apples.

    4 - True

5 - All true at time of release. Probably still true.

    6 - True

7 - True against other workstations.

    8 - Personal pref.

    9 - True.

I was saying if HP support 1866hz, not doubting if they work on DELLs. I think I shouldn't use the word questionable to conclude them all.

    Not relevant for most :
    5. 3D / PCI 3.0
    9. self explanatory( and I think it is same on the HPs)
    Questionable
    3.
    6. dual fan may or may not be better single fan(will need more feedback/data), MSI machine with i7+680m carry single fan.
7.Storage, True if only counting configurable from OEM. HP carry same amount of slot, but feedback says HP seem to have problem with the msata implementation somehow somewhat, maybe it have something to do with RST.

That is the reason i chose precision over alienware because of work/home use.
    1) Alienware is not presentable in business meeting. No cure.
    2) Alienware does not have vga out for projector (?) Can be overcome with adapter.
    3) Alienware does not have docking station for great convenience. However upcoming alienware with thunderbolt will overcome this.
    4) Precision supports more monitor.

Alienware has better performance when overclock, spdif out, speakers etc.

I love the gaming features and looks of the Alienware but I do agree with you on most counts. I guess its decision time for me. BTW does the MSATA on the M6700 support SATA III ??
