bokeh, all your CPUs are at 3591 MHz. Were you running a stress test or is there a BIOS/power plan setting that locks them in at that speed? Mine just fluctuate around 1100 - 1700; I won't necessarily change it artificially, just wondering why yours are at that speed (the fact all of them are, I doubt it was just luck of when you did the screen capture)
    thanks!

I think you misunderstood what I was asking slightly. If I somehow got my hands on a stick with only a 3000MHz profile, I doubt the computer would support that speed. Do you know or have a reasonable guess what the maximum supported "overclock" is?

    Bokeh why are you running RAM as 4 x 2GB instead of 2 x 4GB ?

    Hi Bokeh,

I've read with high interest your M6700 review here.
Regarding it, and especially regarding the very good color gamut of the IPS RVB panel, I decided to order an M6700 with that panel.
I received it 2 weeks ago.

I'm a photographer and color gamut is very important to me.
I'm using Colormunki display spectrophotometer to generate the ICC profile.

Today I decided to compare the icc profile generated for the M6700 panel and AdobeRVB space.
As I had no software to do that comparison I went, after some Google searching, to the following website : ICCView - Colormanagement, Helpdesk, OpenSource

I uploaded my profile (shown as display1_65.icc on the screen capture) and compared it to AdobeRVB... and big (bad) surprise... the gamut color of my profile is far far away of AdobeRVB !!!!
In fact it's quite just equal of sRVB !

    Comparaison Gamut.png

So I'm now with lots of questions :
    - Is there a problem with my panel ?
    - Do I have the IPS RVB panel or did Dell make an error when assembling my M6700 ? (I've immediatly cheked on my order and its mentionned that I ordered the IPS panel) ==> How can I check that I have the right panel ?
    - Are your sure about your own gamut measurments ?
    - Is there an additionnal software to install (Athar, who is also on the forum talked me about Dell Premier Color... but I can see any version for the M6700...)
    - Is there something wrong with my profile or with my Colormunki Photo ??
    - Or is it simply the iccview website that did something wrong ? (Do you know any alternative site or software that can compare and show color gamuts ?)

Any answer would be very helpfull...

    thank you very much...

OK, following Athar's indications (thanks again to him), I downloaded Dell Premier Color Utility...
Everything went fine during the installation and I calibrate my screen again after the installation. Now I come with a profile that match Bokeh's measurments... and that is wider than AdobeRVB... great...

I just have a last question (ok two questions... ;) ) for you guys :
    - How to set Windows 7/Premier Color (I don't know which one has the primacy, so they use the icc profile I created with my ColorMunki in every applications.
    - Does this profile correspond to the "Default" profil I can choose by rightclicking on the Premier Color Icon and choosing "select color profile/Default" ? (knowing that in the control panel/color management, the profil I created is associated with my display...)

Speaking of colors...I just got mine, and decided to see how good this screen actually is. Used PremierColor to switch to sRGB, because that's the "standard" color space for a computer.

White isn't great, but it's passable. The primaries are really good. dE below 3 means you're not going to be able to see the error with just your eye. Yellow and cyan need work, and magenta is excellent.
    Gamut.png

Grayscale measurements reveal significantly more about the white balance of the display. Consistently not enough green, and way too much blue and red.
    Grayscale.png

The gamma isn't great. Compare the first picture (measured) with the second picture (ideal):

    sRGB gamma.png

Overall, the screen is substantially better than any WLED laptop panel. All of these measurements are before any active calibration on my part. I will post my measurements post-calibration as well. I suspect I will be able to get them very close to perfect.

On question specifically to you DeathWalking, with which program do you measure your bamut and gama ?

And two more "general" questions about Premier Color :
    - Does the "Default" configuration set in Premier Color correspond to the icc profil configurated in windows "color management" control panel ? Because that where my icc profile created with my probe is set up
    - Since I've installed Premier COlor, Windows takes a long time to shut down, with a black screen indicating that a program (but no precision about which one) is still running. Is there a way to speed up closing of Premier Color (I'm gessing it's this program that is faulty) or to manage the order in which the programs are closed (assuming it's better to close first programs that take long time to shut down...)
