Sorry, have no clue how to avoid inf file modification to install.
I updated to new Dell official driver since then.
Video_Driver_MXCHK_WN32_23.21.13.8795_A01.EXE it is named on Dell's site.
Here's the new inf file I use. Hope this helps.

So, I've been posting in the M4600 thread, but it's now confirmed that the rx560 doesn't support lvds or edp.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/possible-gpu-upgrade-for-precision-m4600.772547/page-62

In the process of trying to purchase a rx560, I ended up getting a m4800 too. Anyways, it doesn't look like the rx560 is going to be available in time, so I'll need to pick up some other gpu. In the interest of keeping on-topic, I'll ask in here. Has anyone tried a m2200 in the m4800 yet?

Is starting to look pretty tempting... If not

looks like the best upgrade available.

Unfortunately, I see massively differing benchmarks for the m2200 (guessing some of them are mis-labled k2200 benchmarks) How do these cards compare? Depending on where I look, the m2200 is either above the 965m, and close to the 1050, or way below the 965m, and closer to the 950 or lower. I know the 965m had 2 different revisions, so that may be what's confusing me...

    Hello all :)

    I have a Dell M4800 with Quadro K1100M.
I could get a AMD M5100 card from a coworker for free, but only if it fits.

Could you please tell me, if the M5100 card fits with my M4800 with Quadro?
Do I have to modify the cooling system?

My coworker has a M4700 and changed his card from a Quadro to a M5100 too without any needed modification.

Sure, they were both factory options for the non-QHD display, so should work fine. I've got an M5100 in mine.

    Thanks :)
Does the cooling system then fit both? Do both have the same RAM modules at the same place(s)?

The 3D MXM "footprint" is standardized, although i think i might've read somewhere that, for whatever reason, there might be a slightly different M4800 GPU heatsink for the Quadros and the M5100.

Important info for anyone trying the 965m upgrade in a m4800:

The N16E-GR 'refresh' (GR206) ended up ***POSSIBLY (SEE BELOW)*** being edp. Also, there's no hdmi-out (because the card is pushing hdmi 2.0 and the motherboard doesn't support it). Not sure if this only true for the clevo models -I haven't looked into flashing any other vbios.

Fortunately, I can still drive the laptop panel off of the igp, but there's no way to utilize the 965m unless I hook up an external display via displayport.

Other than that, everything went smoothly -Temps are fine and performance is incredible compared with the m5100 that was in there previously. I had read that the upgrade wouldn't work with a newer sbios, but this doesn't appear to be true.

Actually, after stumbling across @Aaron44126 's post in another thread (http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/guide-dell-precision-m6800-m4800-sbios-mod.788481/page-6) -It looks like I may have just installed a non-optimus driver. I know the vbios on my card is clevo instead of dell,
(https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/184954/184954), so I'm not sure if that's part of the problem too.

When I disabled optimus in the sbios, I couldn't get anything to display on the laptop screen, not even the dell logo. If I do manage to get the 965m to drive an application on the built-in display, I'll be sure to update this so as not to misinform anyone.

So while looking at potential upgrades for the K1100m currently in my m4800 I had originally planned to buy a used Dell K2100m to avoid having to mess with INF file, however recently came acrossed the FirePro M5100 which seems to be more of an upgrade than the K2100m and is about the same price. I believe the FirePro is one of the cards the m4800 was originally offered with so I’m thinking/hoping/wondering that I should be able to install it without having to mess with the INF file. Can anyone confirm this?

I believe that's correct, however you may need a different heatsink for the AMD card.
