Any insight on what I would need to do to upgrade from the k1100m that is currently in my m4800 to the k2100m? I see lots of talk about modified inf files. Would I need to do all that to upgrade to the k2100m?

You shouldn't have to do any INF modification for the K2100M as it is a supported GPU for this system... As long as you make sure that you get a Dell part, cards from another vendor will likely require INF modification.

Yeah that was my fear. The few dell ones I've found are used and 2-3x the price of others. I'm not familiar with INF modification at all so I'm already feeling over my head. I'm wondering if this is going to be more hassle than it's worth

Anything specific you'd be upgrading to be able to do? If there's something I can test for you on mine, and that would be helpful, just let me know.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. Honestly, the m4800 I have was given to me by a good friend when I had fallen on hard times and needed a PC. I mostly use it to play World of Warcraft and browse the web. I'm saving up to build myself a new desktop but I was hoping to give this machine a little upgrade in the interim. I found some K2100m GPUs for like $65-70 and didn't think that was unreasonable at all. Thoughts?

I honestly have no idea if that's a good deal, but it's about 33% faster, so it sounds good to me.

Are the ones you're seeing Dell parts?

    HI cmexonat,

I`m planning to upgrade GPU on my M4800 (from K2100M to M200M).
I have never done it before so my question might sound silly but all above steps provided by yourself are taking place after I replaced GPU for M200M?
Also I`m having only 8GB RAM available and would like to upgrade to 16 GB, is replacement difficult and what kind of memory should I buy?
Thank you for your time and help,
    Michal

Hey, patiently wait for AMD RX 560 MXM card.
Someone on this forum is trying to test this new AMD RX 560 card on M4600.
RX 560 has better spec than M2200M, M2000M.

Just ordered a Zbook M2000M and tried it in my 4800. Wouldn't post. Do I need to flash the vBios before hand?

I though the m4800 had integrated Intel graphics but I don't see them anywhere control panel. Without another video source I have no way to use the machine with the M2000M installed :/
