    Yes, i did see the red pop up in the process if i wanted to continue and install, I obviously selected yes.

    No, I've not played around with the BIOS and wasn't really interested in running 100% loading on the 965M card for local display; it was really to power the 4K60 dual monitors only. I will try this tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. Just in case this card is defective, I have emailed the seller over ebay and asked them about it, as they claimed it was tested and working prior to dispatch...

    Tested doesn't only mean can display and boot, it must be able to install driver and take 3D load.
    Hopefully it is the card problem. If the card is healthy, then could be M4800 does not support 965M.

    Oh. Sorry, was occupied last weeks. And still ((

    If you use Dell's driver you want to edit nvdm.inf.
    If Nvidia's driver then nvdmwi.inf
    I decide to route native as much as possible, Dell's one. That is nvdm.inf
    But for 965M you may need to go Nvidia driver, as long as I don't see line like this
    NVIDIA_DEV.139B.0706.1028 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M"
    inside Dell's nvdm.inf.

    Yep.

    It's hard to explain... And I'm not sure I'll do it right. It is just worked in my case.
    Ok. You have these two section, I think
    [NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0...14310]
    and
    [NVIDIA_Devices.NTamd64.10.0]
    I have changed lines in both of them to these

    %NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.05CC.1028% = Section214, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_05CC1028

    %NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.05CC.1028% = Section211, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_13B0&SUBSYS_05CC1028

    How I did it? I just copied the upper line in section of the same Dev.13B0 and edit it to my ID.
    You need to know Dev ID of your card.

    And I have added my card to the end of inf file
    NVIDIA_DEV.13B0.05CC.1028 = "NVIDIA Quadro M2000M"
    You put your card where.

    I uploaded PDF I got from ebay seller on how to change lines. But it's a little messy to my taste :)

    And here's the video I used to get in to method.

    Hope this helps.

    I've modified the INF file and installed the driver, it allowed me to do so and now i run in TEST MODE on Win 7 Pro.

    As stated, there's a yellow "!" over the 965M device in the device manager. I cannot select the external card as a switchable graphics option when i try and configure the attached monitors. What do you suggest I try in the BIOS?

    Agreed. The seller has provided me a slightly further modified INF.

    He believes the latest driver from the last 30 days on nvidia website should work, even though he is going by information from the same card in a DELL M4700 on an older version of the driver as his reference to "working perfectly"

    I'm in a similar situation in wanting to upgrade the GPU in my precision m4800. Mine currently has a Quadro k1100m and I was wondering if anyone thinks upgrading to the K2100m would be worth it? I don't want to spend $400 on the m2000m cards that I've seen even though I know it's a much better upgrade. I mostly use the laptop for light gaming. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

    Looks like this would be about a 40% performance improvement... Up to you if that is worth the $$$.
    (M2000M is more like 140%+ performance improvement over K1100M, well over double.)

    Yeah the M2000M is definitely better but they're like $400 and I can get a K2100m for like $65. I'm currently saving to build a new desktop, this laptop was given to me about 2 years ago by a friend when I had fallen on hard times and needed a computer. I don't want to spend $400 but $65 to increase performance until I can save enough to build my new PC seemed reasonable I thought.

    As old as it is, the K2100M still does reasonably well in some newer games. I know I was able to play the beta of Quake Champions on all high settings without any issues. Id like to upgrade as well, but the M2000M is just too expensive.

    Yes, exactly my thoughts. I think I'm just going to snag a K2100M and see how it goes. $65 is cheap and any upgrade will be helpful until I can build a new machine. I can't justify the $400 for an M2000M.
