    Thanks again Bokeh for all your wonderful work and analysis! I ordered a 6700, and I am curious about your comment on the 6700's mSATA - on the one I ordered, the confirmation sheet specifically says "512GB 2.5" (SATA3) Mobility Solid State Drive, Product code 512SD, SKU [342-4762]. You're saying this is NOT SATA3? Isn't this false advertising or at least very misleading?

    @awatt: That's not an mSATA disk, that's all ;)

    Hi, I bought my m6700 covet on Thursday and I'm really excited to finally get it! But there is one thing worrying me, I asked the salesman about what color it is if it's red like in the pictures and he told me that it's in black/gray and every time I'm searching to see if there is a different color for the covet model I don't find that option and I'm worried that it's not the covet and I don't get the edge to edge glass. Can someone let me know if it comes in either black or red just to make sure I got the right model? Cause on my order it's writing m6700 CVT

    Thank you

    The Covet is "Phoenix red" --- should look like the pictures (more or less).

    My colleagues and me are also waiting for the K3000M graphics cards to upgrade our desktop, M4400, M4500 and M6500 to a M6700. It's a pity we have to wait a little longer ;). Our representative also told me 'around the 20th of August', last week. He seemed pretty happy with an order of 4 systems to look forward to :p.

    We briefly considered the Retina Macbook Pro, mainly because of the high resolution , but decided against it, since connecting all hardware we already have lying around (multiple DVI/HDMI screens, spacemice, Wacom tablet, keyboard) would involve a lot of extra hardware and plugging/unplugging.
    The docking stations for the Dell notebook make life a lot easier.

    Does this mean I need to wait until I receive it to see the color? Cause the salesman didn't know what the color should be and I logged on to chat with another salesman and he told me that they come in Phoenix red or gun metal black, it's confusing. On my order sheet it's saying MOBILE PRECISION M6700,CVT. Does anyone who ordered a covet have that same thing written for them?

    Thats what I was thinking too, that it only comes in red. Maybe the sales person is just wrong? If I write the item number would it help say if it's a covet or not?

    The new Precision series is really new (still in "safe launch").

    From all the informations we have, the Covet edition is only in "Phoenix red" like it has been said earlier.

    Don't stress, if you buy the Covet edition, you will get this "color", their is no reason to get something else.
