    Ok, great news. So, those numbers on notebookcheck are thankfully way off.

    Yeah, I know that. Hence why I took the M6600 off the list as soon as the 7970M benchmarks leaked and it was clear that the next gen mobile graphics will offer 2x the power for the same TDP.

    This is with the IPS screen, right (no Optimus)? Sounds pretty decent as often I need a couple of hours of light work worth of battery life. Are you using the Nvidia inspector power saver? It can keep the GPU in the lowest power state (depending on the custom set processing power threshold) so I guess it can help with those flash ads from spooling it up.

    It's the same GPU core so it's optimized for different applications only with a different drivers set. So, if you install the standard geforce drivers (which usually support the quadro cards by default), it will behave the same if the clocks are the same (maybe the quadro ECC memory will be somewhat slower).

    I think the lower notebookcheck numbers are due to early drivers.

    Actually my point was don't ignore the differences: That you can game at 9/10 on a Quadro card but if you try extended rendering on a Geforce you will be sorely disappointed.
    There is so much confusion about Optimus I can't make head nor tails of it. One spec says it available, while the other says it cant' be done. Incidentally, what of 1866 RAM?

    Dell's new mobile workstations feature an aluminum and magnesium alloy chassis that is MIL-STD 810G tested, an optional slice battery, ExpressCharge battery and NVIDIA Optimus technology, which optimizes the system to provide enhanced graphics performance.

    * No HDMI in?
    * No Thunderbold?
    Maybe next year?

    Optimus requires an 8 bit or less panel. No 10 bit IPS will work with it until Intel supports 10 bits like Nvidia and AMD do.

    Running 1866 RAM in this machine.

    HD 4000 does not support 10bit displays no. Maybe with Haswell we will get that support :)

    Does anyone know the brightness for the various FHD displays? I expect the IPS displays are around 300 nits, but what about the non-IPS? For me, 300 is preferred, and below 270 is unusable.

    Then stick with the WLED and you'll get your 300. The most color accurate IPS RGB LED Display come in at 210

    The IPS screen was always 300 nits. It was an error on the M6600 specs that started people down the road to this misconception.

    I have measured 2 M6600 panels and 1 M6700 IPS panel. All are between 298 and 305 nits.
