Well in a right room you have no problem but when the screen faces the windows and you´ve used the touchscreen a lot like I do you of course get fat on it and this will decrease the visibility of the content. On the other hand it´s a pretty bright display. Can´t test it in sunlight though.

    hello PassiTheApe!
I am interested in buying the M3800. Therefore - and only for information - which configuration (german market) did you choose?

For QHD+, 256 SSD, 500GB SATA, 6 cell, 16 GB RAM, together with 2 yeas next day support and laptop sleeve I paid 2203 € incl. VAT in case you wanted to know the price too.

So, I just off the the phone from being bounced around by Dell until I could get some answers. The person who I finally ended up speaking with went through the parts list and told me the following items are back-ordered in regards to my order:

    256gb msata SSD
    500gb hybrid drive
    QHD+ screen
    keyboard

That seems like a lot of items to have run out of considering I placed my order on the first day it was available on the site.

Hello. I'm a loyal Dell customer who currently owns for my business one Dell M60, a few Dell M70s, four Dell M4500s and one Dell M6500.
After having since purchased an HP workstation and then a Lenovo workstation, I was looking forward to coming home to Dell and receiving a new Dell M3800 today, via next day air shipping.
I purchased my Dell M3800 less than 2 hours after it became available, on that same day just after 1:00 am, purchased from your web site as the most expensive configuration. For 3 weeks I watched my order as it sat in production hoping it would ship early. But today, December 6 on the day it was to have arrived and on the day you said it was expected to arrive (as recently as yesterday it still said this) suddenly the web site now lists my computer with an estimated delivery date of January 8, 2014 as opposed to today, December 6, 2013.
I hope you will show me the courtesy of someone at least explaining to me why this has now been delayed for more than a month - on the day it was to have arrived.
Also, why, when I look on the web site this evening after this morning being informed that my M3800 will now not arrive until the eighth of January does it say that if I order a new one, or if anyone else orders a new one, it is estimated to ship on December 19???
I look forward to your reply.

Unfortunately I got bumped as well and will not get my M3800 before 1/9!!!! I was supposed to get it next week on the 10th....

What a bummer... what is not clear though is that so far I have not heard of the XPS 15 getting one month delays in delivery.
if they are the same units basically except for GPU, why are people seeing such long delays in delivery with the M3800 and not the XPS ???
especially when some people are reporting palm rests, keyboards and touch pads as the missing parts and not the GPUs???

I ended up placing a new order and will cancel my original order from 11/14. I don't know what's going on there, but I was told I would get it sooner if I re-ordered...

Has anyone in the US received the m3800? Or are all US orders being delayed?

By the way, on the new order I was able to request windows 8.1 pre-installed (as I don't need Windows 7). This wasn't an option for me back on 11/14.

Have received and configured my M3800 and everything is perfect....apart from slight noise from USB ports on the left by the power cord. I notice some others have mentioned this but I wanted to find out if anyone knows what it is and if it is a real issue?

Just noticed that this only happens when the laptop is plugged in

Although this is a M3800 owners thread, I want to share my experience: I ordered two New XPS 15 with 512GB SSD and with 1TB hybrid (32GB SSD + 1TB HDD). My order was placed on the 21st of November, and the rep assured me that it would have been shipped on the 29th of November.

Then I got an email with a new est. delivery date on the 16th December. Today I received another email with a new estimated shipping date of the 21st of January!

This really is outrageous, 2 months of wait time to get a laptop and no assurance that it will be shipped on the 21st. It feels like I got tricked by Dell into believing I would get my laptops before christmas. I was hoping that the M3800 had less wait time, but from what I can read it's the same...

Is there a way to cancel the order and get the money back or ask for a discount / extra for the trouble caused by the delay?

    Marco
