I wiped mine right away so I can't be positive, but I would be shocked if Dell paid CyberLink (or whoever) to include a copy of their DVD playback app on a system that doesn't have an optical drive.

That was my question - so no optical drive? Can I add one after the fact if I want to?

Not an internal one, but you could certainly get a USB unit. I'm not sure what the prospects of booting from a USB optical drive on this machine are, though. It may vary from unit to unit or be an all or none type thing.

Thanks, I was more interested in using one if people passed a CD or DVD with files. An external USB may be the way to go.

Will this system with an AC card be compatible with my stone aged old Linksys WRT54G router?

Should be fine, the WiFi is backwards compatible all the way to the old 802.11b.

What a classic router, especially the earlier revs before Linksys started cutting the storage and RAM (around Rev 5 or 6, I believe). Still, I upgraded from that to an Asus RT-N66U and WOW I couldn't believe how much faster Wifi was and even more impressively, how much better the RANGE was. Granted the N66U is known to be one of the best non-AC routers ever in both of those categories, but compared to the WRT54G it was incredible.

Couple grand on a computer... maybe $150 or so on a router is in order. ;-)

I just upgraded to the RT-AC66U and the difference in speed and range is impressive for me as well. Came from the G router that was included with my internet service.

Lol Bokeh, apparently I must spread some reputation around before giving you some more.

Hello guys, I'm new to the forum. After 4 years of use macbook pro 13 mid 2009 were forced to buy a new PC.
I use Solidworks, CAD / CAM, FEM (beginner), and virtualize LinuxCNC. I am undecided between rMBP 15 with nvidia 750m GT, M3800, M4800. I have read this whole review and I realized that these three models have different problems. Can you help me in choosing?

PS: I hope not to have the wrong question to ask for help on choosing the model to buy. If so, there is another thread dedicated on which I can write?
