It will run circles around a 765m in CAD, a lowly K2000m runs circles around a GTX780m in CAD to give an idea of how much a difference it makes and you can no longer soft mod GeForce cards to quadros unfortunately if I recall correctly.
So, stock settings I guess? That would mean random data. You can choose the type of data used for benchmarking in CDM by the way, random, zeroes or all ones. some controllers, SandForce in particular perform much better in the latter two, which is why I was asking.

Actually they advertise the M4800 as having "all day" battery life. They just somehow failed to realize that the one with QHD didn't have Optimus.

SpecViewPerf would be nice, ot would also allow comparison of the K1100m and K2000m minus the CPU dependence.

It's a professional mobile workstation, not a gaming toy. If you need a professional machine, that has the kind of portability this offers, then it's a prime choice. If you don't need a professional device, then there's no point in even thinking about this one.

The m3800 is for making games, not playing them.

    Chiane, you'll be fine.

I run 30k sqm models on my current m4700 with 16GB RAM. These models still run on older precision T3400 with 8GB RAM. In this case, I try to avoid shadowed views though. Renders also take a lot longer because of the CPU, otherwise, they're fine!

Note your reference is not necessarily the actual size of the model, but how complex it is. Our models typically range from 75 to 150MB. I've read somewhere else, as a rule of thumb, multiply by 20 the size of your model to know how much RAM you'll need to dedicate to Revit.

We expect to go to the market for a new laptop. We were going for a m4800, but I'm getting more inclined to the m3800.I'd like to be able to swap the battery, or add a battery slice to it, and be able to add more RAM in the future. However the m3800 seems litgher than the m4800, and will surely make a better impression in the meeting rooms.
