My XPS 15s were getting during the Furmark 15-minute burn-in test 82 degrees for the 4702HQ and 78 degrees for the 4712HQ.

Actually, I misread their review. Ignore my previous comment.

I didn't have any issues in using it, but when I went to uninstall so I could try the official Synaptics ones, I did get an error. The solution is to hit Win + R and enter:
    rundll32.exe "C:\Program Files\Synaptics\SynTP\SynISDLL.dll",standAloneUninstall

And then to install the official Synaptics drivers follow the instructions here:
    http://superuser.com/questions/690671/synaptics-windows-8-1-updating-synaptics-failed

I hope Synaptics will update them to include the Task View Left-Edge-Swipe and Notifications Right Swipe. Right now, Left-Edge-Swipe does nothing and Right-Edge-Swipe brings up Cortana (which is kinda cool tho).

    Thanks!

    Now this is really odd..

When I updated from 8.1, Windows somehow updated with an older version of Synaptics.
When I uninstalled the driver and ran Windows Update again, it somehow got me a more recent version - one that I had on 8.1.
    It works fine now. Mehhhh?

I'm going over some of the crucial drivers for the system, and so far I've noticed some issues with the following drivers. I'll keep an update if I see any other issues.
If you've already done your Windows 10 update, please check these just in case!

Dell - Free Fall Protection (I think this is a Dell driver? not certain about this one)
Dell - Microphone (for some reason, it wasn't working. reinstalled the Dell Audio driver and works fine now)
Intel - RST (had an older version installed - updated manually)

Yeah, as of last night Windows 10 insisted on installing the Dell Official drivers via Windows Update eventho I had told it to skip that update because I had installed the newer Synaptics drivers. One disappointing thing with both the Dell and Synaptics drivers is that eventho this touchpad supports edge swipes, it does nothing in Windows 10. It would be nice if left-edge-swipe brought up the Task View and right-edge-swipe brought up the Notification center. With the Synaptics drivers, at least, right-edge-swipe brought up Cortana. With the Dell drivers, nothing. I'm hoping they will fix this soon, but I have no doubt they will save it for a newer model and tout it as a new feature... which is the reason people hate companies like Dell and love Apple.

[EDIT] I see that the Dell download site has new drivers for the touchpad (as well as other things). Not sure if these are different than the ones that came through Windows Update (which were actualy labeled "Dell"... which was a first, usually Windows Update is very generic about its drivers). Anyone know?

Win10 here. I had to wait for the Nvidia drivers this morning from Dell but otherwise all is well. The multi-screen scaling seems to work much better (text no longer looks blurry). My touchpad also seems to be working nicely. I've been able to turn the tap to click back on and have had no issues (thus far) with false clicks as I sweep over the screen. Hopefully it will stay that way.

Incidentally, I think it is Apple who in notorious for holding off on upgrades and then releasing things that others have had for a while and claiming it's the next great thing.

I dunno about the NVidia drivers, but word of warning for the other drivers that just popped up at the Dell site: do not install them. I installed the audio and some others and they wrecked havoc. Microphone stopped working, etc. It seems that Dell drivers are now coming through Windows Update nowadays (which is a surprise... and welcomed). Uninstalling the audio driver just installed the previous Dell version via Windows Update which worked great.
