I think you would find if they were Dell would advertise the fact.I'm no color expert [nor do I require high accuracy] but I like my M4600 1080 screen more than my M3800 1080 screen, glossy is a pain at times but it seems to add a yellowish hue to everything which the M4600 doesn't, whether it's related to the useless [for me] touch screen layer or not I don't know but I'd be surprised if anyone more color qualified than I am thought it was something amazing.

Autocad 2013 works perfectly with the m3800, hi resolution screen gives you plenty of details and the menus are still in a readable size, no problem.

Regarding dockingstation I don't know yet, still waiting on delivery.

Does anyone know what 256 Gb SSD is mounted on top of the range M3800? Brand? model?

The top-end model uses a 512GB SSD, not 256. But thus far the 256 has been the Plextor/Lite-on M5M and the 512 has been the Samsung SM841 (based on the 840 Pro), though Dell could add/change suppliers at any time.

They also provide M3800 with windows 8.1. I'll have to use CAD / CAM, Solidworks, FEA software. Windows 7 is better for these applications? Win 7 runs smoothly optimus technology? I do not care touch screen.

If I wanted to take the M3800 model no ssd and then insert it myself personally, I have to change the boot settings in the bios? is complicated?

I'm not familiar with those applications. You may want to ask about Windows 7 vs 8.1 in forums dedicated to those applications or contact their support teams. If you're getting the QHD+ panel, Windows 8.1 has somewhat better scaling performance though, but even that's not perfect.

No, the BIOS setting is easy. Set the SATA Operation mode to AHCI if you want to use the mSATA port for an independent SSD, and set it to Intel Smart Response if you want to use a small mSATA SSD as a cache for a spinning hard drive. The only catch is that I believe once you change that setting, you will no longer be able to boot Windows until you reinstall it from scratch.

My goal is to buy M3800 with HD screen, 8 gb ram, 500 gb hdd (boot win 8.1). Then I mount an mSATA ssd 256 gb and I boot windows 7 from mSATA. then use a 500 gb hdd to store.
As soon as the pc will ask about installing win 7 on mSATA if I have problems. Advice me some ssd 256 gb mSATA? The best..
