Samsung managed to put an 8870M into a similar form factor together with a quad-core, so it's doable.

From the Custom PC Review image of the backside...replaceable battery but not easily removable?

Is the white space in the middle just a location for label or is there something else going on there?

What are the chances of that displayport being thunderbolt?? I see that in Asus G750JW which has a thunderbolt port, the icon is still a Displayport icon.

I cant seem to think of any other plausible reasons for dells "speed of light" keyword in their campaign. Ofcourse usb 3 is far from speed of light.

Very good stuff indeed. Great modern specs in a super-slim good-looking package... Dell is waking up finally.
To my understanding we are talking about a $2,000-2,500 machine right?

Good looking: I beg to differ, it looks too much like a XPS. It shouldn't look like a XPS, while I do prefer the look of the previous Precision generation, it doesn't have to use that look, but it should look different from Dell's consumer laptops. Ok, it doesn't look ugly, so in that sense it is good looking, but not what a Precision should look like imo. I'll probably make my peace with it at some point though, I usually do.

As for the price, you are probably right, but nothing has been announced yet, so price is still an unknown.

Everyone has its own opinion and taste on design and well, our point of view is totally different on this. :)

I am also wondering if Dell will also introduce a variant of this model under their consumer XPS line. Maybe a new XPS 15 refresh, with the same awesome super high resolution screen and regular GeForce GPU.

Time will tell.. Hopefully sooner than later.

Also, from almost all the videos of the M3800 posted here you can easily spot the extra-large Tiles on the Windows Start Screen, meaning the machine already runs on Windows 8.1, which makes perfect sense assuming the major changes on 8.1 to support higher resolution screens. This laptop may be one of the first ones to ship with the new OS, Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 8.1 will hit RTM by the end of August with retail launch following shortly after.

At least it won't get any special attention when its mixed with the rest of the plastic crowd.
