For a new Windows installation (using the BIOS key), would I need to burn a Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft onto a USB, plug in the USB, and install from the USB?

Basically. You can use the tool and it will make a USB drive for you. No need to figure out "burning" an ISO to USB.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
(Ignore the business about needing a license. Just download and run the tool, and follow the steps. There is no license check until you actually do the install on the target system.)

On the target system, hit "F12" at boot to get to the boot menu and pick the USB drive from the list to get started.

to be true, I dont know how it came to the A4000... i thought when they offered me the 7750 the 3000 was not available and so they took the 4000 for it that went into the A4000 when they couldnt make the 7750... due to corona the part situatio is insane at the moment.

    The terms of the support are the same, they take over the rest time of you support on the new model, so my pro support will end 5 years after my purchase of the 7730 so 2023 I guess since I got it in august 2018;

Otherwise I would have bought a new 7760 this year with 5 years again and given my 7730 to a collegue, but so I ordered a new 3560 for him instead - delivery time form order 2 months as they cant get the good display any earlier

Anyone know what the docking options re for the 7X60? Is Dell coming out with something new for these?

    I see these two

    Dell Performance Dock | WD19DCS
    https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-performance-dock-wd19dcs/apd/210-azbn/pc-accessories

    Dell Thunderbolt Dock – WD19TBS
    https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-thunderbolt-dock-wd19tbs/apd/210-azbi/pc-accessories

    I see

the WD19TBS has a Thunderbolt 3 port and does 180W

The WD19DCS does not have the TB 3 but does 210W.

The WD19DCS is listed on both the 7560 and 7760 product pages. The W19TBS is not.

IS the WD19DCS newer and the current one?

    thanks,

    Mike

I liked the precision laptops for their robustness and I previously owned M90, M6500, and M6800. I am now leaning towards the 7760. Since I don't play video games any more and I don't use photoshop everyday, is there a drawback to have only the iGPU with the 4k screen? (e.g., is it going to lag to play a 4k video?) Since the T1200 is not compatible with the 4k screen, A3000 is not cheap and I would rather put the money into SSDs. Can I add a GPU later on if I change my mind?

Otherwise, is it possible to order it with a keyboard with another layout? (another country) If not, I guess I can try to find the part number and change it myself.

Maybe my last is more appropriate for the owner topic: how are the colors on the 4k screen? For example, on my M6500, the screen needed a calibration profile otherwise the colors looked weird.

If you do not want to have to connect an AC adapter to your laptop in addition to the dock cable, you must use TB18DC or WD19DC. WD19DCS also works, "S" is for "simple" (or something) and it lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.
If you don't mind connecting the AC adapter + dock cable, you can use any of the docks. Anything that worked with the 7X10 series and up should be fine (other than the ePort docks).

iGPU is fine with a 4K screen. 4K videos work fine. (I've done this on my 7530, three generations older, it's no problem.)
You can upgrade the GPU later but you will have to source several parts — GPU card, DGFF data connectors, DGFF power cable, and a new heatsink. Dell doesn't sell these parts separately in most territories. You'll have to resort to eBay.
Regarding the keyboard, I'd suggest getting in touch with a sales rep to see if they can help you there, if the option is not available on the web site in your territory.
(You could also see if a rep could let you order the system with a T1200 GPU. There is no reason why a T1200 couldn't work with the 4K panel, it is definitely superior to the iGPU. In some territories, the web site is allowing it.)

After you have the system, you can try extending (buying) additional warranty. Sometimes they allow it 5 years from the ship date of the new replacement system. Sometimes it works. There may be a link under warranty on the support page. It has been several since I tried.

I used the online chat and the person said: "T1200 is more of a basic graphic card and does not support a 4k inbuilt laptop screen. If you want a 4k screen, you need to go with at least RTX 3000 graphics. T1200 graphics can support FHD screen only."

I also asked for a different keyboard layout. As I live in the US, this is not possible.

If I own an extra license of windows 10 pro, I don't need to buy one from Dell, right?

Correct, as long as your license is not OEM (included with purchase of a previous system), those cannot be transferred.

I am still looking at the Docks to get for the 7560 and 7760. I found this sheet

    https://www.delltechnologies.com/as...es/dell_commercial_docking_help_me_choose.pdf

    Dell Performance Dock | WD19DCS
    https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-performance-dock-wd19dcs/apd/210-azbn/pc-accessories

    Dell Thunderbolt Dock – WD19TBS
    https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-thunderbolt-dock-wd19tbs/apd/210-azbi/pc-accessories

I think the WD19DCS is the one to get for both the 7560 and 7760. I guess if you need the TB 3, you would get the WD19TBS. Right now I am looking for the dock for external monitors (two LG 4K 34" Ultra widescreen) and mouse and keyboard.
    • The WD19DCS does not have the TB 3 but does 210W. Includes 240W Power Adapter.
    • The WD19TBS has a Thunderbolt 3 port and does 130W. Includes 180W Power Adapter.
    • The WD19DCS is listed on both the 7560 and 7760 product pages. The W19TBS is not.
I assume that I will need the extra power cord in the computer for the 7760; however, may not need to do that for the 7560. Just the USB C for the 7560, but also assume it does not hurt to have both for the 7560.

    thanks,

    Mike
