Is the bandwidth difference between 3200mhz and 3466mhz that much with CPU heavy tasks? Since the 3466mhz memory is twice the cost of the Dell 3200mhz RAM (https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/sho...ory?ref=p13n_ena_pdp_mv&c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd)
The biggest drawback to 3466mhz ram to me is that it can only go up to 64gb. I don't need more than 64gb ram for now, but in a few years I might. Having to buy a whole new set of RAM will be a bummer.
The price of the 16gb Dell 3200mhz RAM is very competitive with aftermarket RAM. Though the 32gb stick at 220 USD seems like a bad deal considering that the normal Crucial 3200mhz RAM costs 30% less and is known to work in almost any laptop that it should work in (it also works in the Alienware X17)

Replying based on "my" memory, which unfortunately is not "ECC" (!). I recall seeing these error messages on boot, to the effect of something like "memory error detected on DIMM X, corrected". IIRC, this at least sometimes happened after the system had unexpectedly either had a BSOD or had just terminated and restarted.

In that case you could certainly use the Crucial (non-Ballistix) memory. I have used that memory for upgrades in many latitudes/precisions at work.

Wouldn't high capacity (32gb) memory modules be considered high density?
