I brought my son to Best Buy and we looked at both 15" and 17". We decided on a 15" for him since he will be more mobile with it in college. My 7710 I only bring it if I can use it on a desk somewhere. I have used it on my lap, but not ideal for me. For traveling on a plane (26 flights so far this year), I use a surface pro. Productivity does go down but it is night and day carrying a surface pro vs a 15" or 17" laptop and does the job on the go. Traveling by car, I will take the 7710 but do prefer the surface if working in the car. On the desk I have two 34" curved wide screens. Once I got use to that, using a 17" laptop stank. It is a trade off.

I recently purchased Samsung 32GB PC4-23400 DDR4-2933MHz ECC Unbuffered CL21 260-Pin SoDimm 1.2V Dual Rank Memory Module Mfr P/N M474A4G43AB1-CVF from memory4less for my 7750 which is working. Make sure you ask them for a quote, which reduced the price a bit. https://www.memory4less.com/samsung-32gb-sodimm-pc23400-m474a4g43ab1-cvf

It is taking longer to boot now. All the diagnostics memory checks passed, and the Linux memory checker passed as well. I'm thinking seriously about disabling hibernation now though 128GB is a good portion of my windows boot disk.. I have 1 512GB SSD that came with which I left Windows and 2 2TB SSD's running mirrored ZFS booting Linux. Neither OS is having any problems with the new memory.

    Good Luck,
    Bill S.

Any specific reason on taking longer to boot? Is it an ECC vs non-ECC reason? Or OS?

Curious when you order if the delivery ETA is further back than orders placed closer to launch. The ordering web site is still showing August 11, I don't think it has moved back at all.

There is a difference in thermals, but it's not huge. Maybe 10-15%. The 7560 has 1 less drive bay.
Imo, 17 inch isn't too big and the bezels have been greatly reduced with this chassis. The 7760 should fit in most backpacks; you can check if it fits by using the dimensions listed in the product description.
There are two screen options for both (no need to chose between the 2 unless you are buying pre-configured): FHD and UHD. The 7760 has 120hz for the UHD.
The productivity vs portability is for you to decide. I will say that there is a big difference between 15 and 17 inch screens with the same increase in laptop size.
Personally, I want to get a 17 inch screen since I find the 15 inch screen on my XPS 15 7590 (one with bottom bezel) is a bit small. The 7560 is just slightly larger (and twice as thick) as my XPS. For me, the 7560 and my XPS are very small and I can manage having a 17 inch screen which is why I went for the 7760.

I seriously considered a 7760 before ordering a 7560 to replace my current 7530. I mostly use my laptop for Lightroom and Photoshop when I'm away from home, with Web browsing, email, and Office thrown in.
My 7530 has the 3840x2160 IPS display, and the 7560 I ordered contains a similar UHD panel, both with 100% coverage of the Adobe color space. I find the default desktop's text too small to comfortably read, so I've scaled Windows' desktop 175%. I've similarly scaled Ubuntu's desktop. (I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu.)
I elected to stay with a 15" machine for the following reasons:
    • I've been comfortable with the 15" screen size since I began using laptops many, many years ago.
    • Moving to a 17" display would force me to replace both my camera backpack, which has a pocket for a 15" laptop, and my laptop bag. I happen to like those two bags, and didn't particularly like the idea of replacing them with larger models.
    • Also bag related: not many backpack camera bags have a pocket for a 17" laptop. Carrying both my camera equipment and my laptop in a single bag small enough to carry on and stow in an airliner's overhead bin is extremely important to me for security reasons.
    • For me the cost of moving from a 7560 to a 7760 was not a major consideration.
    • The 7760's displays offer no features, e.g., 100% coverage of the Adobe color space, missing from the 7560 display options.
    • Possible better processor and GPU performance due to improved cooling of the 17" chassis isn't a primary consideration for me.

Don't we all wish that :)

There is still a chance that it might get delayed... based on the order delay that I had with my order on the 7750 (got delayed twice)

I placed my 7760 order on 6/15 and it says that it will arrive on 8/10
