Thanks so much. For some reason I can't find SHP14C7 on Panelook.

Would it be too much to ask if you could remove your bezel and take a photo of the model number pasted on the display, as well as the part number of the display cable?

 

I am sorry this might be a bit too hard task for me. I don't trust my skill enough to do that.

I could find SHP14C7 either. There is only LQ156D1JW04 (SHP1436). I assume that panel I have is a newer variant of it. I forgot what did I measure when I was calibrating it, but I think this panel has a lot higher max brightness than 330 cd/m² mentioned on Panelook. I need to re-calibrate it, so I will check that then. I just got 7540 to replace 7510 and from what I see and measured 7540 panel looks to me as updated and improved version of the panel I had in 7510.

 

Has anyone seen this before, when booting up? Just seen it on my 7740.

Turned it off, pulled out the external drives that were connected via the TB3 ports (not sure if relevant), and rebooted and it started fine that time...

Btw, OS drive is the original one that came installed by Dell

I had no error when media cannot be found, but my 7540 suddenly changed it booting behavior. I also used TB3 external ssd at that moment, but I don' remember what I did exactly, did I pull it out or not. It might be related. What happened in my case is that bios started checking every single other boot possibility before booting from original ssd which multiplied boot time. To solve the problem I closed some boot options and now I don't have to read all those texts every time I boot. I am not also sure what was the original options in the bios because this happened in less than a week after I got a new laptop, but booting procedure definitely had changed. Maybe yours have similar sudden change too which caused your problem.

 

I have seen that before when I had multiple GPT formatted drives installed. The fix I used was the remove all of the boot options in the bios, reboot, then re-create them.

Sounds like you're both talking about the solution - how do you remove boot options in the BIOS?

As well as the factory C drive, I've got another three internal M.2 drives installed

If you go to the boot settings, there will be a list of boot options. With UEFI, these are added as they are discovered. One of them will be "Windows Boot Loader". Just delete everything from the list. Next time you boot it will rediscover the Windows drive and put it back on the list.
