Do you have the part number for the 7740 4k assembly?

Well, that's good news, so seems possible to upgrade to 4k then.

I didn't get a part number. The rep did take my information and said she would call back if the cable becomes available separately. $675 doesn't sound too bad for the whole assembly. The Dreamcolor 4k assembly for the Zbook 17 is double that price as a spare part.

Is there anyone has the 7740 + 4K display, who would be willing to locate the part number for just the display cable? You should be able to...
    * Remove the bezel (pry it off)
    * Remove the screws holding the display in; "fold it down" and look at the back
    * You do not have to unplug the cable, the part number should be on a sticker/label on the end connecting to the display.

Example, here is the one for the 7530 that I took myself a while back.

I'd be willing to spend the 675 for the whole 4k assembly. What number did you call to get the info? I'll give them a call and order it/get the part number.

Send me the phone number in a PM?

I used the chat tool from this link:

Be sure to clarify you want to upgrade the internal laptop display so they don't try to sell you an external monitor or cable.

If you are in the U.S. you can try the actual spare parts line and see if you have better luck. 800-372-3355
I have gotten oddball parts from them before. (Optical drive, CPU heatsink, rubber feet...)
(There should be an analogue number to call in any territory...)

Odd. I guess its possible the person I chatted with this morning may not have checked stock, merely looked up the part. I also kind of wonder if when there are parts shortages they reserve all stock for warranty repairs and will flat out not sell to end users. Maybe things will get better in a few weeks or month when production gets back to normal?

I mentioned that someone else had received a price quote and the guy said that was impossible because they can't see how much they cost unless they are in stock, so it sounds like a got a CSR that was lazy/inept.
I'll call them and see if I can speak with someone in Texas. I have an acct rep for business needs but not sure if I should contact him or not.
Will update again once I get concrete info.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for this.

I was asked via PM if I could dump the 7740 RTX 4000 VBIOS. I have attached it to this post!
