Stepping in. I believe @Ionising_Radiation is out of cards, they were snapped up quickly.
Your system should be under warranty and it's Dell's job to take care of you in this case. If they are telling you that they don't have the part in stock to perform the repair, and they are not able to offer a reasonable timeline as to when it might be in stock, have the case elevated. You should be able to get a system replacement with a comparable 7550.

Also — You should be able to run external monitors off of the Intel GPU using the USB-C ports. You can get adapters to hook up HDMI or DisplayPort monitors to USB-C. Make sure that the "discrete display output" option in the BIOS is turned off.

Unfortunately, @Aaron44126 is right: I had five cards, and all of them were very quickly sold. He is correct on the warranty issue as well—if Dell is giving you the run-around about a not-in-stock part for repair, then escalate the issue. I'm certain this downtime is costing you in lost productivity, which is something they are likely to take seriously. If you're lucky, you might get an upgrade, too, either to the 7550, or an in-place upgrade to the RTX 4000/5000.

Dell's policy for system replacements is equal-or-better, which is why it makes a lot of financial sense to pay extra for an extended warranty. They are not likely to have a new system in stock five years down the road, and many users here have, using their warranties alone, been provided with upgrades (for essentially a fifth to a tenth the price of the original system cost).

    Thanks, @Aaron44126 and @Ionising_Radiation,

As you’ve rightly pointed out, my problem is that of work being affected. Dell is willing to replace the laptop, but it would take 3 weeks for a replacement to arrive - and that is after escalating it. In the meanwhile, I guess I need to hookup a TB3 eGPU. Thanks for your quick replies!

You may also be able to ask them to overnight you a loaner machine from Dell outlet if they have something in stock with comparable specs. With any luck you could swap your SSD over to the loaner and be ready to go after re-activating any licenses.

Has anyone seen this "PC-Doctor Module" using ridiculous amounts of CPU and RAM, intermittently? Think it's something to do with Dell...

Disable Dell Command Update and Dell SupportAssist, or uninstall them.

Never mind - found out it's SupportAssist testing my CPU and memory. Have found out how to disable it (but haven't found out how to delete my posts above).

    Thanks - crossed posts.

I can disable the automatic scans. That should do it.
