Summary: Ensure you turn all indexing OFF in Windows Explorer.

    Details:

Came across this thread late. If anyone else ever comes across this thread, I humbly submit:

I was experiencing poor performance on my Dell m4600 with an Nvidia Quadro 2000m graphics controller. In my case, NTLite was taking an extraordinarily long time to slipstream drivers into a Windows 7 image I was hacking for a Dell Precision m5520 install. While I never decisively pinned down the problem, a little while later I discovered I had Windows Explorer configured to index 3 of my partitions (C: D: and F:) all on my Samsung 950 EVO SSD. Not only that, but I think I had indexing configured to index the contents of the files. So with any sort of file creation / moving... the system was going bananas (my guess) to keep everything indexed.

Since I don't need to search for stuff too often, I turned index file contents OFF as well as index files OFF. After this point I noted that some sluggishness I had been experiencing in Autodesk Civil3D 2016 went away.

C T, I have the same laptop and I am facing the same performance issues with 3DS Max, Autocad and, in fact, in general.
Did you ever figure out what the issue was? Are you still using the same machine?
I would very much appreciate any inputs as I don't know what else to try.

    Krgds,
    Cris
