I was going to wait on the 1TB as well, but figured I need the space now, so went ahead on the 512. Figure I'll eventually have other solutions to make use of the 512 later on once the 1TB gets released and I switch it out.

That converter is an option, at least for making clone copies for backups. When it comes to backups, simplest option would be to switch out an already ready ssd in my opinion. :)

Someone needs to release a usb-c to pcie gen 3 enclosure so I can do something useful with this pm951 it came with. I've seen pcie gen 2 to usb 3.0 kits so far.

Usually Windows would dynamically adjust the paging file size depending on the application. Normally you do NOT want to remove the page file, as some software depends on it and that can cause issues. Back in the olden days when I was running Win95/98, I was still running some 16-bit Win3.1 software (which I still run under WinXP on the old M6300) that would page no matter what memory I had. So the solution then was to create a RAM disk, and put the paging file on that, which did speed things up considerably. With today's faster NVMe drives it's probably not much of an issue...

Have been using a 5510 with the USB-C and Thunderbolt docks. The combo is very solid. I slightly prefer the larger Thunderbolt dock because it offers more output options.

You also generally want a page file anyways, here's a good read up on why: http://azius.com/blog/pagefile-yes1/

Just want to ask, has any other people on this thread use USB-C to GigE ethernet adapters on Win 7.
And transferred large files successfully without it crashing?

After some support Qs with dell, they are offering to replace the mobo again. Just wondering if its a hardware issue.

Updated the BIOS to 1.1.19 and getting a "no boot device found" after. (Booting from 950 pro with no issues before)

Haven't figured out why. Deciding whether to roll the bios back or throw the HDD back in and see if I can access the nvme drive.

UPDATE: Rolled back to 1.1.07 and it boots back up, 1.1.03 would not install. If you're thinking of updating and have a 950 pro and windows 7 be careful. Not sure if this will cause issues for everyone or if its something specific to my setup (win 7, legacy BIOS, ordered with HDD and replaced)

    Just unboxed my 5510 today.
Brought it home after just doing a very few things at work.
It's so slow booting into Win7x64, it's horrific.
Just did the latest BIOS update that's recommended: no help.
    Booting up is unbelievable slow

    This just sucks
