Your post gave me a happy flashback to learning an ergonomic keyboard's layout. I was taught to hit the "6" key with one hand's index finger, and the ergonomic keyboard had the 6 on the other hand's side. I kept hitting the wrong key until I finally relearned to hit "6" with my other hand. Hopefully I'll always be re-trainable, but just in case maybe I should buy some extra keyboards that I know how to type on without thinking :)

I would start by updating every driver.
I've had no issues with my Precision 5510 and Photoshop CC 2015.

Okay, did that, installing the latest drivers right off of Dell.com--and then updating the NVIDIA drivers in the NVIDIA app. Crash, boom. Sigh.

I'm going to assume that Dell made sure that Photoshop and the CC family runs awesome on the Precision 5510 Quaddro GPU since "certified app compatibility" is one of their features.

I will return this XPS 15 and pick up a Precision 5510...or switch to a ZBook Studio.

P.S. Thanks for taking the time to share your test results! That was really helpful, much appreciated.

On my Windows 7 I have the following drivers installed

    Intel HD Graphics 530/P530 Driver
    Version 20.19.15.4331,A04

    nVIDIA Quadro M1000M Graphics Driver
    Version 10.18.13.5894,A03

What I don't understand is, that I'm unable to find the 20.19.15.4331 anywhere on Intels website - only on Dell. I'm trying to locate every driver needed - in the latest versions.

There's a big thread about the XPS in the XPS section, maybe they know better.

I've installed Windows 10 and changed BIOS from RAID to AHCI but am experiencing my laptop hangs at bios upon restarts. I need to turn it off and on to get it started again.

    Hi gudy,
I read in forums that there is an ahci driver for it.

Gudi -> this is known bug, I've changed from RAID to AHCI as well and getting this hang. I don't restart too often so it doesn't bother me.

For all having issues with SSD read/write speeds I recommend reading XPS 15 Skylake thread, so much valuable information about setting the laptop correctly.

Thanks guys. I just made some speed tests with CrystalDiskMark and I'm getting the same speeds (slightly better) with RAID than AHCI. Seems the bios update must have helped in this matter. I'm keeping the setup with RAID now.

Could anyone with a FHD screen provide input on whether Precision 5510 suffers from the same ghosting issue as XPS 15? Is it the same screen?

    Cheers
