Outlet stock varies continuously as people return laptops for whatever reason they do. So you have to keep looking.

Yes it can be done, easily, with the year NBD warranty. It is recommended you purchase the extra warranty.

OK, so it is just patience and not something specific. Will try that. Thanks.

I didn't see any option for 1 year NBD but will check back again. Hope I get it for close to 800. I am in CA and w/ latest 15% off coupon, best price I get is about 965.

I was talking about the 3 year NBD for $99. It is money well-spent. You should keep looking.

May I ask where you got, or can still get a 20% Coupon? Or any significant one. 10%/15% etc.

I can never find them, especially for the Latitude 4200, despite checking sites like 'techbargains' etc.

    thanks.

There is a brand new E4200 BIOS released May 14, 2009. Has anyone with Windows 7 tried it to see if it fixes the backlight control issue?

I would have done that, but I have reverted back to Vista, and it takes quite a while to back things up and install Windows 7 again.

It would be nice if the fan algorithm is improved, too, but I don't have high hopes for that.

If anyone is interested, I've been planning on getting rid of my basically unused (but loaded) E4200. Dell sent me a new one for my last replacement and I used it a grand total of about 2 hours before I got the Adamo.

I've been meaning to get this up on the FS/FT forum but just haven't had the time. If posting this here isn't allowed, let me know and I'll remove the post.

    Specs:
    • 1.4GHz SU9400 CPU
    • 3GB RAM
    • 64GB Ultra Performance SSD
    • Intel 5300 Wireless
    • Dell 5530 WWAN
    • Bluetooth
    • Vista Ultimate (32-bit)
    • Office 2007 Basic (not installed but media & key included)
    • Acrobat 9 Standard (not installed but media & key included)
    • External DVD+/-RW
    • Dell Leather Folio
    • (2) 45W Slim AC Adapters
    • 3 Year NBD On-Site w/ ProSupport (expires 10/9/2011)
    • 3 Year CompleteCare (expires 10/9/2011)

EDIT: As per Phil (Moderator), please PM me if you're interested. Don't clutter the thread with questions about my system. Thanks.

They are usually single-use coupons. I signed up for Dell's mailing list for the Outlet and they occasionally send them out. I'll check my email to see if they sent anything recently.
