D830 motherboard compatible with D820 laptop?

    E series desktop processors are only for one and one socket only - the LGA775. D830 uses the Socket P processor. Visually compare the sockets and see for yourself - they won't fit!

    If you are unsure of what you wan't - then be safe and just get, lets say, the T9300 and be done with it.

    Great that cleared everything up for me =) Thanks for all the help from you, would have made some big errors without your help had a hard time getting the whole why socket 775 wouldnt work when all duos i found was of 775. =) Will probably get a T9300 seems as the one most worth the price and power to upgrade from my 1.66ghz one atm. Really need to be able to play 1080p movies and are having some small issues even with 720p sometimes. Thanks again!! =)
