Its so bizarre that adobe went to all the effort of writing a 64 bit version and it doesnt appear to run well at all?

I was looking forward to the OpenGl support for the zooming (so images dont appear fragmented unless they are viewed at 100 50 or 25 percent etc as opposed to any other non dividable number)

    Which Adobe apps are 64bit?
When I got CS3 Master Collection earlier this year I was told none of the apps were 64bit ...

    Thanks.

Ok, so its CS4 that offers 64bit and only for photoshop?

Wonder what Adobe will offer as an upgrade since I bought CS3 MC not that long ago.

    Onyro,

Just as a followup to my previous reply, I just installed a trial version of CS4. (default scratch file, default OpenGL, default RAM Usage, in fact default everything!) No issues. (zoomed, added some layers, deleted layers and used the rotate tool that is designed for GPU) really fast. There was a pause (Vista spinning wheel) when I *selected* one of the new tools, but then it was fast again. I am using Dell video driver version 7.15.11.7653 Vista Ultimate x64 (Covet with 8GB RAM,2x320GB RAID 0 drives) I do not see any problems with NVidia Control Panel.
The images I used are full size RAW from a Nikon D700 using Lightroom (64bit version) to edit within Photoshop CS4.

For me it appears to run very well. I have used previous version of Photoshop (CS2/3) but never a machine as fast as this. I have never seen Photoshop load as quickly as it does on this machine or run as smoothly. I can't possibly find anything to complain about!

Let me know if there is a specific test you would like me to make or anything else I can help with.

    --- Bruce
