    Hi guys,

I've had my covet for arround less than a month now and i've now got serious issues with photoshop cs4 and all the cs4 suite.. like selecting actionscript in flash cs4s actionscript panel.. (major lag)

It must be the graphics drivers, but i have installed all the varieties i have read about on this forum both from nvidia & laptovideo2go to no availe.. after opening a few psd's and trying to move layers around from one to the other (via the tabs etc..) it really starts to become unusable.. it feals like there is a graphics card memeory leak or something, also when i open the nvidia control panel to see what's going on the 3d logo start to stutter when i move my mouse over it continiously...

is anybody else having issue with cs4..?

    covet, quadcore, 8gb ram, 3700m + 320 hd..

about to install another 320 hd and was happy to see that i don;t have to reinstall everything.... via (ludicrus speed)

Why? What makes you think that's what's correct for the card? I haven't seen anywhere that says laptopVideo2go drivers help the performance of a powerful workstation card like the 3700m, and NVIDIA's website doesn't even give drivers for mobile cards. Why would you just install those without reason? Use Dell's stock drivers, they optimize for best Quadro performance, unlike what LV2G does. I have installed many LV2G drivers on my Quadro, all of them hindered performance. Even DOX's new driver makes my screen look like its refreshing only once a second.

& for the record, CS4 went very laggy for my 770M as well, but somehow it speeded up over time.

onyro: This is pretty much exactly the same config I have:I wish I could just give you an answer to this, but I haven't tried CS4 yet, so actually I am eager to hear the resolution...

Someone did say about moving the scratch disk to another drive (and this making the setup zoom), so instead of RAIDing the drives (I assumed that you are going with an internal RAID 0?) maybe do that?
I have 2x320GB RAID 0 drives so that is not going to be possible for me unless I re-image: Which is something I will do, but...
I am enjoying this machine too much to mess with the software, drivers or anything else....

Finally, the other reason not to RAID internally: I could not get the Intel Matrix software to have my external eSATA drive as a Rapid Recovery Volume; it complains there is an array or too many volumes (something like that)....
I assume that keeping the internal drives seperate would allow a Rapid Recovery volume which would be great...

ok successfully installed another 320 drive and set it to raid 0 with no reinstallations etc using intel matrix storage.. pretty cool, get min 52 MB/sec and max 116MB/sec and burst rate of 440 MB/sec..

i know its nothing compared to the ssd's but... will wait a while before they come down in price...

the system has sped up slightly but still get a laggy photoshop cs4 using dells original nvidia drivers.... will look at cs3..

Its absolutely strange that such a high end system wouldnt be able to run photoshop 64 -- does anyone else out there have photoshop working on a m6400?
I have ordered an m6400 which should arrive in the next few days. One of the main programs used on it will be photoshop so this is quite worrying.

I have not tried the CS4 suite yet, but could it be that you have a beta version of it, or that it may be conflicting with some other thing on your machine.

it runs, don't get me wrong.. it just doesn't fly the way i expect it too or the way it does on a new imac.. also there are screen refresh issues etc... so i am sure it should run smoother..

I guess the new OpenGL support. Navigating around in CS4 is not that cool - well for my place. It doesn't matter if it runs on my desktop (quadcore, 3,2Ghz, 8800GTX) or M6400. It's slower than CS3, for sure.
