Seems a lot of people ask about rendering performance,
you can download this small benchmark here.
    http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1708
    it is only 51mb.
Specviewperf is probably a better openGL
    benchmark,particularly for the common openGL
software used, but is a rather unreasonable
download size compared to this, which does
a short openGL test as well as cpu rendering
    tests.
So if some owners of any of the Precisions
can post a score here,it will probably be
helpful to prospective owners as to what
    sort of comparative performance between
    models and specs there is.

    here is mine,specs in sig.[IMG][/IMG]

    well !!!!!

i'm very stucked and shocked !!!

because FX 1700M of m477hew's computer have a very higher score in OpenGL than my quadro FX 1700 Desktop !!!!!!!!!

    i'v got a poor 4000 point wheras he's got 6200 !!!
how can a mobile version of this card be more powerful than the desktop release ???

does this score take care of the CPU hardware ? i thouth only the GPU will be estimate in this part of benchmark (opengl score)....

well i don't know what to think now !

Hmm, your clocks seem to be much lower than the mobile version (-40core/-100mem/-330shader to be exact), not that clocks should affect OpenGL rendering by much as you see they barely make use of shaders. You also have a DDR2 video card, while we have a DDR3 card. That changes performance vastly. OpenGL uses both GPU & CPU, but it depends on the API that utilizes OpenGL and it's possible you can get just the GPU to render with OpenGL. It's kind of hard to put the CPU as the master brain away for something requiring calculations, don't you think?

Could you shrink the image a little bit? Kind of tears this thread apart. Use a link or something like (http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/738/cinebench10xp32pd960fx1zz9.jpg).

& danao, you've been speculating about this machine for months. Just buy it already, please. You'll be happy you did  :D.

That the NVidia name politics! You can't compare two cards with almost the same name. As stated above, your card has slower components and slower clocks.

Even the FX 770M in the M4400 is faster than your card. A test at notebookcheck.com results in 6180 points! So the difference between FX 770M and FX 1700M seems to be very low. (Just like in the 3DMark06 scores).

could it be a driver issue? maybe thats why it took ages for the 1700 to come available
