battery life >>> higher res, esp if the price is that high!

    yer :/

hmmm yer indeed.. but i cba to wait.. this current notebook is pissing me off and uni is gonna start soon.

but i think both the e4300 and the x200 can be shipped already:
lite-com.de is an registred dell partner and the german webshops that offer the x200 say it can be shipped in like one week

but since a x200 is about 300€ more expensive than an e4300 with the same config, i think ill just go with dell, dont think ill regret it..?

I think for europe the X200 is a no-go due to the pricing. The E4300 kills it with specs and costs the same (just the internal dvd is very nice)

The X200 is lighter and could have better battery, but let's wait for the reviews (LED could save alot) :D

As for shipping: the X200 should be available anytime soon, don't expect the E4300 before mid to end of Ocotber.
I let Dell make me an offer (which was way worse than the one from lite-com) and the offer stated "If you order today you will probably receive the laptop by oct. 20th."

    No f-ing warranty...

Thought of that, too. I even have a friend there who would surely forward it to me, maybe as broken so I don't have to pay customs, but you don't have warranty.

At lenovo.com there are the terms for the warranty and somewhere it states something like:

"unless states elsewise warranty is only applicable in the country or region of purchase."

For products bought in the US it's only the US where you have warranty (maybe canada, too). For Germany it's whole of europe...

    Lenovo hates Europe...

    I won't get a notebook at all :D

My main cncern was having something powerful at home as a desktop replacement, possibly on an external monitor (therefore the need for the hdmi)
I study abroad and have a powerful water cooled tower there.
But if I get a notebook it should also be portable for use in university... So I didn't get any notebook

Well so I will continue taking notes in uni with my e90 communicator what works quite well (am writing from it now).

    I didn't get nothing though :D
I just couldn't sacrifice the gaming power my watee cooled 9800gtx+ offers :)

So now instead of spending circa 1500 on a notebook I got myself a second tower, radiator and a nice dell 2408wfp monitor.
The computer parts I will always transport in my carry on luggage.
