beep noise...once in while..vostro

i hear a beep noise ... i noticed it about 5 times since i owned the vostro 1400 (3 weeks). Beep sound..resembles the sound you would hear when a computer first loads up its bios and "Beep" (as if everything was checked and good to go)

 

Are you running XP or Vista and do you have sounds disabled on your system? Also what is your wireless card?

 

vista home premium... dell default wifi .

Actually its almost (maybe the same) sound when you insert a cd rom...the first beep. I never have a cd-rom inserted when it made the noise though...

 

hmm...on my E1705 I had the problem of it beeping whenever my intel card found a wireless network so I just disabled the System Beep.

 

My 1400 just beeped for the first time since I've owned it (2 weeks). It seemed kind of random, but afterwards the internet wasn't working in the house, so I hope it's related to the failed connection rather than something more serious.

 

Mine beeps almost every other day. Still don't know why.

 

i haven't heard a beep in 3 weeks...

 

I've had 2 different Vostro 1400's and have gotten the random beeps on both. It does sound more like a dvd drive beep then a bios to me.

 

It does definitely come from the right side where the DVD is.

 

I definitely hear this on my Inspiron 6000.

I hadn't heard this noise until 7+ months ago. (I've had it for over two years)
